Tonight heaven gained an angel…
Tonight we said goodbye to our beloved Toby.
I know he touched many peoples hearts and showed many kiddos the love of horses, so we share this in solidarity for all of those that loved our special boy.
We will never forget Toby, our own certified good boy, the best horse anyone could ask for. He was so very loved.
They say no horse that is loved goes to heaven with a full tail, a sweet lore and one that I stand behind today Toby leaves us with a bob of a tail because he was more than just a horse he was everything a girl like me could have dreamed of.
Run free and breath easy buddy 💕
If anyone has photos or memories they would like to share of Toby please please share them in the comments or via messenger I would love to see them as we pay tribute to the Certified Good Boy.

Fun fact!
The horses and goats love pumpkins! The horses get small amounts as a treat but the goats can be at lots and it’s a great natural dewormer for them too, if you have any pumpkins you can’t figure out what to do with we will take them! Just message me 🙂

An update from the farm on Toby

This dry windy fall has not done him any favors, he was really struggling with his heaves, he now has his own paddock that we try to keep as dust free as possible, with soaked hay and hay cubes throughout the day in our make shift raised feeder to keep his hay off the ground and away from his goat pals so that he can eat in peace, it’s not perfect but he is doing better now and it’s working along with his meds to keep his symptoms at bay.

Happy Labor Day from us to you!
Our two problem children are doing great, their shelter is getting delivered soon and we can’t wait! Toby’s breathing has stabalizaed and remained easy and clear for the past few weeks, he is getting his spunky micheveous character back and for once I couldn’t be happier to see a bit of naughty excited behavior from him 💕😂
Queenie has been sound and seemingly pain free and we have started some very slow physical therapy to see if we can build up muscle around her chronic pelvis injuries to keep her sound and pain free 💕

Toby was a big fan of our home grown zucchini! Queenie on the other hand not so much 😂

Some updates from the farm:
Toby has been feeling great and got to go on a 10 minute ride down the road with me which he absolutely loved. Although he is retired from hard work and arena work small easy walks down the road are good for both him and me 💕
The horses are settling in and got some new pasture mates that they are getting along with great. The goats 🐐 keep the horses company and are helping knock some of our taller brush down. The spot for the horses brand new shelter has been leveled and the shelter is ordered and should be here in 3-5 weeks!!!
The horses have also gotten used to the random chicken or two that finds its way into the field as they free range the property.
Lastly, the kittens have gotten so big and will be going to their new homes soon!

I know many have been waiting for an update on Toby and the program. Toby unfortunately had a relapse after treatment, we are working tirelessly to make sure he is comfortable and living the best life he can. We are carefully monitoring his quality of life and listening to what he needs. That being said he will fully retire and live out the rest of his days happily in the field be that a a few months or for the next few years. Hopefully the cooler weather will help him fully recover without relapse so we can have those years with our certified good boy.
Unfortunately without Toby I have no horse to teach with and with his treatments currently do not have the finances to bring another horse into the team. Once I do I will be getting a horse that can hopefully step into Toby’s shoes as a best friend and teacher. Until then I will continue to post about Toby and all the other animals on the farm too.
Thank you everyone for your unwavering support as we navigate this hard time.

We are all safe after the storms last night, we hope everyone else is as well, it was a scary evening 😳

An update on Toby:
He is doing good, breathing is normal and it seems that the antibiotics and inhaler meds are working well for him. We moved him to the new facility with Queenie where he has been thriving with more fresh air and no dusty barn to sit in!

I know many care deeply for Toby so I wanted to give a bit of an update on him for everyone.
This video was taken this morning. He is being closely monitored by me and the wonderful veterinarians at Fremont County Animal Hospital. He does not have a viral disease so our other animals are safe but he does have an infection in his lungs that he is being treated for. Hopefully this can be treated at home but we have volunteers ready if we need to get him into the clinic for more severe treatments.
Since starting the medications he is starting to become more himself again and perk up which is great news!

At this moment in time the riding lesson program is going to be put on hold.
Toby, my teaching horse has come down with a pretty serious infection and is undergoing treatments with the vet. It seems he may not have recovered fully from his last recent health issue and is having severe respitory issues.
At this point I am unsure of when we will reopen the program, my main concern is getting Toby healthy and comfortable again.
If you would like to donate directly to his medical expenses feel free to reach out.
If you have questions message the page.
I appreciate everyone’s patience and thoughts at this time, it’s not what anyone wants but the health and well being of the horses always comes above all else.
