IMPORANT INFO. - REMINDER THAT WE REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING SHOTS. DISTEMPER/PARVO, BORDETELLA, RABIES AND THE CANINE INFLUENZA. IF YOUR PET HAS NEVER HAD THE INFLUENZA SHOT, THE FIRST YEAR THEY MUST HAVE TWO SHOTS GIVE 2-4 WEEKS APART. ALL SHOTS, INCLUDING THE INFLUENZA SHOT, MUST BE UP TO DATE AT LEAST 14 DAYS PRIOR TO BOARDING. NO EXCEPTIONS. It is the responsibility of the pet's owner to keep track of when their shots are due. If you've watched the news lately, you are aware there is a new upper respiratory virus affecting dogs across the United States. Veterinarians have not yet been able to identify this virus and therefore, there is no vaccine available yet. Your best protectant for your pet is to keep their vaccinations up to date and do not have them around other dogs. We do everything humanely possible to keep your pet safe while boarding with us. If you do need to board your dog, we require ALL shots be up to date AT LEAST 14 days prior to boarding. We require distemper/parvo, bordetella, rabies and the canine influenza shots. If your pet has never had the influenza shot, the first year they must get two shots given 2-4 weeks apart. The second influenza must be given at least 14 days prior to boarding. We also require you not take your pet to a groomer, dog park or any other boarding facility within two weeks of boarding with us. If your dog is showing any signs of illness, we cannot board your pet. Please adhere to the rules at our kennel and hopefully, we can keep everyone safe while they are with us.

Due to recent outbreaks of kennel cough in Wapakoneta and Sidney, we are once again reminding people that we require at least 14 days and preferably 21 days prior to boarding with us that you DO NOT take your pets to the groomer, dog park or any other boarding facility. We have been very lucky at our facility that our boarders are great about following our rules. We try very hard to keep your pets safe while staying with us and if everyone follows the rules, you have the best chance of your pet being safe while they are being boarded. This is not only for our kennel but for all facilities that board animals. The less dogs they are around prior to boarding at a kennel, the less chance they will pick up a virus and carry it into a boarding facility. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep your pets safe. We greatly appreciate it.

ALSO, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM TAKING YOUR PET TO THE GROOMER OR A DOG PARK WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF BOARDING WITH US. THE LESS DOGS THEY ARE AROUND BEFORE BOARDING WITH US, THE LESS CHANCE THEY WILL BRING A VIRUS IN TO OUR KENNEL. WE ARE TRYING TO BE PRO-ACTIVE AND KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE WHILE BOARDING WITH US. THANKS

SOME PEOPLE FORGET ABOUT BOOKING THEIR PET UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE AND THERE IS NOT ALWAYS AVAILABILITY. WE ARE FILLING UP FAST FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE. THEY GET THE FIRST SHOT AND THEN NO LESS THEN 14 DAYS LATER AND NO MORE THEN 30 DAYS LATER, THEY NEED TO GET THE SECOND SHOT. IF THEY DON'T GET THE SHOTS IN THE ALLOTTED TIME PERIOD, THEY DON'T WORK PROPERLY AND YOU MUST START OVER. THE SECOND SHOT HAS TO BE UP TO DATE AT LEAST 14 DAYS PRIOR TO BOARDING, AS WELL AS ALL OTHER SHOTS.

This is Andy. 10 yr old terrier mix, neutered and up to date on shots. He was boarded at our kennel a couple of times. He is a nice dog who is losing his home after 6 yrs. Owner is moving and not allowed to have him at her new place. He is housebroke and crate trained. He would prefer a more quiet home with no small children. It is unknown if he gets along with other dogs but possibly a laid back, passive dog. If interested, I can give you contact info. He is currently located in Columbus, OH

THE FIRST YEAR, THE FLU SHOT IS A TWO PART SHOT GIVEN 2-4 WEEKS APART. SHOTS ARE REQUIRED TO BE UP TO DATE AT LEAST TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO BOARDING. THEREFORE, WHEN GETTING THE CANINE INFLUENZA SHOT THE FIRST YEAR, YOU MUST ALLOW ENOUGH TIME SO THE SECOND SHOT IS UP TO DATE AT LEAST TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO BOARDING. AFTER THE FIRST YEAR, IT IS A ONCE A YEAR BOOSTER LIKE THE OTHER SHOTS.

IF YOUR PETS SHOTS HAVE BEEN EXPIRED FOR THREE MONTHS OR MORE, THEY MUST BE UPDATED AT LEAST THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO BEING BOARDED.

Starting in April 2022, we are also going to require your dogs to have the canine influenza shot. This is a two part shot the first time give 2-4 weeks apart. After that is a once yearly shot.

Also, starting in August, if your dog has not already been vaccinated, we are requiring pets to have their shots THREE WEEKS before the day you drop off for boarding.

DUE TO MORE KENNELS REQUIRING THE CANINE INFLUENZA SHOT IN ORDER TO BOARD DOGS, WE ARE GOING TO START REQUIRING THE CANINE INFLUENZA SHOT AT LATIMERS PAMPERED PETS MOTEL BEGINNING APRIL, 2022. IF YOUR PETS SHOTS HAVE NOT YET BEEN UPDATED THIS YEAR, YOU WILL WANT TO ADD THAT SHOT WHEN GETTING THEM UPDATED. THE FIRST TIME IS A TWO PART SHOT. ONE SHOT AND THEN A COUPLE WEEKS LATER, A SECOND SHOT. AFTER THAT ITS JUST ONE SHOT YEARLY. WE WANT TO HELP KEEP YOUR PETS AS SAFE AS HUMANELY POSSIBLE WHILE BEING BOARDED. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Well, I paid to have us listed in the Only One Can Be The Best issue of the Sidney Daily News that came out today because I figured it would be some good advertising. However, they listed us as a Pet Groomer instead of a boarding kennel. Don't think the ad will be much help to us. If you like Latimers Pampered pets, I'd appreciate if you still vote even though they have us listed incorrectly. I am going to try to have them get this corrected.

Someone told me today they had heard a rumor that our kennel is closed. Latimer's Pampered Pets Motel IS NOT CLOSED and we have NO INTENTION OF CLOSING. I don't know who starts these vicious rumors, but a rumor like that could cause someone to lose their business and their livelihood. Hopefully, this will clear up any rumors that someone started. We love animals and will continue running our business as long as we are physically able.

We are booking for summer vacations. Your dog must be current on shots, DHPPV, Bordetella and Rabies given by a licensed veterinarian AT LEAST 10 days prior to the day you drop off for boarding. They must be flea free and on a good monthly, vet approved, flea preventative.
