Located in Sidney, Maine 04330 If you are looking for a warm little lap buddy who will give you absolutely no personal space, you are at the right place. My dogs are my life. I never had children and they fill the bill. When you message me about my pups, please tell me about yourself and your home. Do you have children? Ages? Do you have other pets? We do not recommend a chihuahua pup for folks with children under 10 years old. Do you work away from home long hours every day? People who just ask “How Much?” will not get a reply. I find that rude. My pups are not an item on a store shelf. I want loving dedicated folks to have my babies: people who will cherish them like I do. I love it when people keep me updated on their pups and send photos of how they change over time.
Be aware of the possibility of blood sugar drop in the tiniest pups and be prepared. Have organic honey or karo syrup on hand, it can save a life. There is no health guarantee if your pup dies of a blood sugar drop...this is totally preventable. If your pup does experience this, rub honey or karo on his gums and get him back to me. Vets often will stabilize a pup only to have them crash 2 hours later. The pup needs more than quick sugar calories. Keep pup formula on hand in case he will not eat, you can always syringe feed formula blended with canned food if necessary. Your pup is like a newborn baby in many ways, please take care to keep a calm environment for the first few weeks. No excessive play or exercise as this can lead to upset tummy which leads to not eating which can spiral into blood sugar drop, coma and even death. Do your research.
Your pup will have had it’s first shot at 7 weeks, have been wormed, and will have it dew claws permanently removed. His immunity will not be total. Do not put him down where strange dogs have been: your pup can pick up parvo and it can be deadly. Pet stores are known for diseases lurking on the lower shelves from dogs roaming in the stores. Rest stops on your trip home are full of spots where strange dogs have been out to do their business. Use a p*e pad in your car please.
Dog food and treats. Please feed only top quality dog food...it can be expensive, but so worth it in maintaining your pups health. I recommend Fromm Puppy Gold dry food which needs to be purchased from a reputable dealership. (Amazon is not). I talked to the Fromm family and they said to find dealerships here.....https://frommfamily.com/retailers/usa/ Fromm also makes a canned food which is top of the line but they only make adult food. They recommend mixing the adult food with the dry puppy food. I find that my pups like the Canadae or Royal Canin canned puppy food and it is highly rated. Tractor Supply Stores carry a line of dog food called 4 Health that is a 4 1/2 star food, reasonable price and the dogs love it. If you choose to use a different food than what your pup has been eating, please switch over slowly. Check out foods at www.dogfoodadvisor.com Most foods in grocery stores and Walmart are substandard. Beware of treats also. Many dogs have died from treats such as Beggin Strips and puparoni. I buy Ziwi Peak dog food as training treats. Very healthy and the dogs go crazy for it. It is tiny square pieces of quality jerky. I buy my chew treats from www.bestbullysticks.com and they never have anything from China.
