Sadly, I have decided to move on from chinchillas. I do still have three moms pregnant and just had two little ones born on the 24th (a light ebony female and a tan male). So i'll have babies for a little while longer yet but once the other babies are born, i'll be slowly selling them all off except maybe one or two pairs.

I've enjoyed having them and caring for all the sweet babies but I am struggling to find time lately.

On July 22nd, I lost my robin. He passed from age but it still hurts all the same. He was 17 years old and I had him his entire life. He was the sweetest, easiest chinchilla I have ever had. I called him my spokesman for chinchillas because anyone could hold him and he would be just a sweet little boy about it. He was tiny, a cute little dwarf but yet such a chunk.
We had him cremated and should get him back some time soon. I miss him so much.

Three babies born!
An adorable pink white female that is such a pretty bright white. A Tan female that came out spunky and full of herself! and a light ebony male that is so sweet and passive.

We also have this beautiful ebony white boy! Pictures don't do him justice! He's so silvery and with lots of bright white spots. He's such a funny little guy.

Babies!
We had four tan babies born on the 27th, sadly two passed since then.
We also had two more born yesterday, a tan and a tan white/mosaic. I was certain the mosaic was going to pass right away as she was army crawling instead of walking but she's looking great now!

We also still have three babies available! A tan male, a beige female and a standard female.

The last three days, we've had a baby explosion! Oddly, all tan! 8 in total but one didn't make it.
There are 2 boys and 5 girls, all ranging in shades!

We had two more babies born on Oct. 4th (Been so busy lately!). Both girls. Standard grey and a tan (She's missing the tip of her tail due to birthing complications)

We also have an older ebony female available. She is best by herself as she will randomly snap and attack her friends (Even after months/years of being together). She is also best with someone who has had chinchillas before, she is rather crabby at times. Never bitten but will spray you from across the room with amazing accuracy... She will calm down and enjoy your company when she knows you're not a threat but forgets that from time to time.

Two little girls were born on the 18th. One is a tan white (Cute little super light tan bands on her) and the other one is a pink white. The pink white is much smaller and had a rough start. So fingers crossed she does well with a little extra feedings from me as well.

These two are growing so fast! The little ebony white boy is turning a beautiful silver and the little tan boy is such a nice light tan. Both are little goof balls.

Our Story

We’re a small hobby breeder located just outside of Champaign. Our chinchillas are bred from pedigree chins but we also get in a few rescue chinchillas as well. We don’t have babies available all the time so please know you may have to wait for a litter.

We breed Whites, ebonys, beige, tans and standards and occasionally we have a TOV. Our chins range in price from $100 to $250 (give or take) depending on colour and over all build.

We do deposits on babies once they reach a weight or age I feel is comfortable. Deposits are $25 and count towards the final price at pick up. Deposits are non refundable unless on our end. We will arrange a pick up date and if we do no hear from you within 3 days of missed pick up date, the deposit then becomes forfeited and the chinchilla goes back up for sale. (I will send lots of messages prior to doing this) All chinchillas bred here come with a 30 day health guarantee. !!This does not included rescues or rescues born here!! If something happens to the chinchilla, a vet exam or a necropsy will be needed. I can replace the chinchilla when another becomes available or nurse the said chinchilla back to health for you so long as the vet report says the illness or injury happened while at my ranch. The Cahill Chinchilla Ranch does not cover vet bills of any kind unless the chin is in our care and seeing our vet.
