Shelby County Animal Shelter - Ohio This is the "official" page for the Shelby County Animal Shelter in Sidney, Ohio. We enforce the Ohio Revised Code concerning dogs.

The Shelby County Animal Shelter is a County office designed to serve the residents of Shelby County. We answer calls for stray dogs, complaints of dogs running at large,as well as animal killsbydogs and coyotes in a timely manner. We pickup stray dogs, answer humane complaint and reports of loose dogs. Don't assume because the Police Dept. or Sheriff's Office is contacted that we will respond. Ca

ll us the following day on complaints and dog bites to make sure we are aware of the call and if we are responding. We are open to people looking for a pet, people looking for a missing pet, and to people who just want to look at the animals.We accept dogs and cats from owners as well as strays. A fee may be involved. Call the office during hours of operation to make sure. We offer dogs, puppies, cats and kittens for adoption. We are here for owners of lost dogs to claim their animals or report a lost animal. We have a bulletin board for people to offer animals to good homes and we have free information to the public on a variety of issues. We welcome any questions you may have about dogs, cats or the Animal Shelter.

Let's keep the holiday cheer coming! We had both of our longest residents adopted in the same week Talon and MILKSHAKE! Santa was working overtime for our Shelby County Shelter pets.
Milkshake was a big softie waiting for his soft place to call fur-ever. He's now home for the holidays with lil siblings to cuddle.

Guys, you did it! After a successful Facebook post was shared over 300x's Talon's new family came to meet him and take him home for the holidays! Talon waited 286 days to be picked as the bestest boy. He now has a soft place to rest and plenty of toys to have his way with.

We couldn't be happier for our pups that have found their fur-ever home for the holidays!
We have;
* Patches who's owner passed away with no one to claim her. She is doing amazing!
*Shadow who grew to big too fast and needed a little direction. He's already in obedience training.
*Dixie who had the eyes that drew her new owner in. You could say it was love at 1st sight.
*Buddy that came to us as an outside dog needing a family to take him in for the holidays. He'll now have a soft place to rest with 3 siblings.

We might not be able to warm up the temperature outside but maybe we could share some heart warming news.
Maximum KNA Hank the hunk got a warm fur-ever home for the holidays.
His new dad says what a great dog Hank is and that he can't believe this boy wasn't claimed.
We hear this so often about our unwanted dogs here at the shelter. We proudly go by the name Bob Sargeant Animal Shelter AND Adoption Center for a reason.
