The skies were once again filled with drama when I left the house last night, the 14th of August. I also knew that there might be a clearing in those same skies sneaking in from the southwest.
Could I possibly have the best of both worlds?
Smadge, my Subaru, obviously thought so and drove me to Brown Canyon Ranch, a place I've not been to in a long time.
"You need another Milky Way shot with the windmill, Sean." she said.
"But I've already done that shot several times girl."
"I know. I've seen them. But this time why don't you take a few steps back and get the old outhouse in the frame?"
"The outhouse?" I repeated, surprised.
"Yes. The outhouse."
And so that's what I did, per Smadge's council. Here is the result.
Water basin to the left.
Windmill towards the center.
Outhouse to the right.
What was that? Branches crack, heavy breathing, movement in the wooded pond to my immediate west side! Was that a snort or a growl?
It was time to pack it in and return home. Besides, how many more windmill shots did I really need?
Full screen is kinda cool.
