With Summertime trips happening, we think getting your pet Microchipped is extremely valuable. Call us to schedule an appointment with a technician today.

Here are some of the annual member benefits:
A permanent listing of your pet’s microchip ID and your contact information is added to HomeAgain’s National Recovery Database.
When a lost pet is scanned, the ID number is called into the pet recovery database. Almost all veterinary practices and animal shelters use scanners that can read these codes, so your pet can be identified no matter where or how far away from home they are found.
Lost Pet Network and Alert System
As soon as a pet is reported lost, HomeAgain sends a lost pet alert with your pet’s information and photo to members of the HomeAgain Pet Recovery Network within a 25 mile radius. This network includes over 1,000,000 veterinary practices, animal shelters, and volunteer Pet Rescuers nationwide.
Travel Assistance for Found Pets
HomeAgain loves happy reunions and wants to ease the burden of expensive travel costs associated with reuniting pets with their families. Annual membership includes coverage up to $500 in pet airfare if a pet is found over 500 miles away.
Access to ASPCA’s 24/7 Emergency Medical Hotline
One of the nicest perks of HomeAgain’s annual membership includes free, anytime telephone assistance to ASPCA’s Emergency and Poison Control Center Hotline. This is a great resource – we recommend this hotline to all of our clients during our closed hours anyway. Under normal circumstances, each call to the hotline costs $65.00. However, as a HomeAgain member, all calls are free. (We charge $61.00 for the microchip which includes the first year of membership, so one call to the hotline pays for itself!).

Traveling to Mexico with your dog?

https://www.cdc.gov/importation/bringing-an-animal-into-the-united-states/dogs.html

Starting August 1st, all dogs entering the U.S. (including those that left the U.S. and are returning, and regardless of the country they are coming from) must be:
Healthy upon arrival
at least 6 months of age
microchipped
accompanied by a CDC Dog Import Form receipt and required vaccination and veterinary documents.

Additional requirements may apply depending on where the dog has been in the last 6 months and whether or not the dog was vaccinated in the United States.
Use the CDC's Q &A tool (the CDC "DogBot") to determine what rules apply to your dog.

Did you know that less than 10% of the pets that are unchipped will return home each year?

A microchip is a secure, reliable, permanent identification for your pet and the process is simple and affordable. Microchipping your pet can help ensure that if your pet goes missing, they can be identified and find their way back to you.

If your pet is chipped, make sure their information is up to date. To help keep pets close to their loved ones, share this post and remind your friends to !

Is your pet scooting or licking their rear? It could be their a**l glands.

A**l glands are located on the rear of dogs and cats. The glands produce an oily, fishy-smelling fluid that helps with scent marking. Sometimes these glands can get impacted or infected.

Soft, consistent stool, as well as allergies, are common causes of irritation. If your pet is scooting, licking excessively, or showing signs of discomfort around their rear end, contact us! We will help to identify the cause and determine the best course of treatment.

With tomorrow being Hairball Awareness Day, we wanted to remind our cat parents about the importance of preventing hairballs.

Accumulated from excessive grooming, hairballs can build in your cat’s digestive system and either get coughed up or in some cases, need surgical removal.
If your cat is excessively vomiting, lethargic, loses their appetite, or has diarrhea or constipation, these may be signs of a blockage and you should contact our team immediately.
