Hi! I'm Maryna Ozuna, founder of Canine Kinaesthetics™, Equine Kinaesthetics™, Movement Markers™ Clinics, and owner and head trainer at Arizona Doggy Dude Ranch.
In the 80s, I developed Equine Kinaesthetics™, a sports therapy and behavioral protocol for horses and traveled the world working on everything from draft horses to competition endurance Arabians, hunter jumpers, dressage horses, and four-in-hand teams.
In the 90s, I began transferring the lessons learned from the horse world to the dog world. After many years and adventures, Canine Kinaesthetics™ was born. While much of the anatomy was similar, there were profound differences that I needed to account for to fully develop the protocol to have the impact I wanted. Over the years, I touched hundreds of dogs from Anatolians to Poodles and everything in between.
Along the way, I lived for a decade in rural Sonora, Mexico with a pack of 13 dogs, 2 horses, and 2 cats. We had no fences, no dog yard, no crates, no modern training equipment, no electricity, no indoor running water - just my voice, training, management protocols, and food. They graciously welcomed me into their world, let me live with them, and allowed me to learn.
I am now on my fifth generation of personal German Shepherds, Kerrtu von Ramhaus BH, UPR3, CD, RE, CGC, CGCA/U, TKI and my third generation of Shiba Inu. My first shepherd Angie taught me the vast amount I didn't know. Each succeeding generation of Shepherd has gleefully continued this heritage. The Shibas add the icing to the endless learning cake.
I have owned Arizona Doggy Dude Ranch since the early 2000s. While I am still training, my focus is on passing along the information learned to the next generations through the Movement Markers™ Clinics. I have been a featured speaker at two NADOI National Conferences, several smaller presentations, and two IACP Conferences.
My articles have been featured by various organizations and websites. My "Five Week Puppy Syndrome" article was incorporated into the Monks of New Skete revised edition of "The Art of Raising a Puppy."
My hobbies are cooking, writing, photography, and watching sports of all types, especially tennis.
