Too often a big dog, or a dog going through a fear stage of reactivity or just lacking training is.. greatly misunderstood.

We get Meet & Greets on a regular basis of dogs that will not even jump into a vehicle. Dogs that hide behind their owners peeing and defacting out of fear. This is not always genetics or stemming from abuse. A lot of it is from lack of proper socialization and training at a young age. Your dog does not have to go crazy just because the doorbell is rang. Your dog doesn’t have to lose control just because someone is walking another dog across the street.

Congratulations Rex!
Rex is a German Shepherd. He came to us wearing a muzzle, confused and afraid. He was a very misunderstood Shepherd. After years of experience with this breed and working with behavior modifications we knew exactly what he needed. He needed structured training to help him feel secure and confidence building. When he arrived, we watched his body language and the muzzle came off. We found a very sweet boy that was big and looked intimidating. Too often outsiders see a big dog and instill their perception onto it. We spent an entire month with Rex, all five of our trainers. He did amazing and by the end of it was loading up to go for car rides and adventures. He is a super cool dog and now with an entire new life. His owners came down from Prescott Valley several times to do one on one handler classes with us, while Rex remained with us. His family is super dedicated and are excited to continue forward with his training. If you need serious training help, you can go out and get referred elsewhere by the inexperienced trainers or come work with the professionals that will take your dog to that next level he is begging to be taken to. Do not limit your dog’s true potential. Get him into training and change both your lives.

Got impulse control?
Place is a very important element of a dog’s training. It teaches impulse control, when a dog is inside a kennel it has no choice but to be in the kennel. When a dog is on place, it has to make the decision to stay on place and exercise self discipline. Place is taught to be a high value command for the dog, by using lots of treats and engagement drills so they choose to stay on place.

Place is good for when you have company over, or are cleaning, cooking or eating dinner. They remain on place until released.

Rex, the German Shepherd came to us for a month long Board & Train. Rex was very shy and lacked confidence. He has worked with all five of our trainers here at KnightWatch. He has done a complete turn around, and is now at the stage in his training where he is doing stores. He has become very confident, and loves his training outings.
