When you’ve never seen your reflection before 🤣 The horses have finally discovered the @twistedconfectionz food trailer and Smooch is convinced there’s a horse in there. Poor guy stood there for an hour screaming at the trailer hoping he’d get a response back 😂
Thank you everyone for being so patient with us while we get our lives back together after the @127yardsale! It takes us a couple weeks to clean up and recover from the heat 🥵 But just before the sale we got some adorable new neighbors that we have loved getting to know and watching them play together. The horses didn’t feel the same way tho because apparently these tiny little guys are horse eating monsters 👹 so it has taken some time to get the horses used to seeing the goats 🐐 Stay tuned for our next post, we will be opening the farm up again for our hug a horse visits and will get that booking link posted here shortly! 🐴
When we say our horses are pretty much used to the fireworks this is a good example. The Mount Carmel Baptist Church is just down the road from us and they do a firework show every year. They were about 10 minutes in to their show and Fancy & Jude were busy having a grooming sesh 🐴 Smooch was just hanging out on the other side of the paddock eatingAt most they might walk around a little bit but they don’t usually freak out. We always bring them in to the paddock behind the barn during fireworks just to be on the safe side but honestly they would probably be just fine staying out in the pasture. Our guys tend to stay calmer when they can see what’s going on and when we don’t make any changes to their routine. Horses like predictability. They do well on strict routines and changes can really stress them outIf we locked them inside the barn they would lose it because they don’t like being inside. Some horses do better being in stalls and need to be inside for their safety if they aren’t used to the noise. Now, if our crew saw a deer in the woods that’s a whole nother story 😂 That would cause mass panic and Fancy will be the first to high tail it to the next zip code 💨 Fascinating what spooks them and what doesn’t
New Phone!
We’ve had a few people who said they haven’t been able to reach us. Back in October we lost our 521 phone number and made a post with our new number so just wanted to share again here and as always you can message the farm page too if for some reason you can’t reach us by phone. New number below ⬇️ Thanks!

Gorgeous day with a pop of color and the horses chowing down. Enjoying this moment here at present moment farm
We love our barn birds! 🐦 Most people aren’t fond of birds in the barn because they make a mess and poop everywhere but we grew up with cockatiels in the house so we’re used to the bird poop 💩 These babies are about to be too big for their nest so we’ll have a lot more birds swooping thru the aisle way here soon. We have all kinds of birds here on the farm from bobwhites to killdeer to blue birds and many more! So if you come to our mindfulness with horses class you’ll get to hear them all 🙂
Hopefully this will be the final update on Smooch. He seems to be doing better now. Finished up all the antibiotics and removed the catheter and stitches. He had some random swellings in his jaw, neck, and belly, but those have all gone down now
He’s got his appetite back, drinking normally, and temp back to normal. He lost a bunch of weight tho from not eating when he was feeling so bad so it might take a little while to get his weight back to normal but with spring grass coming in already that should help
We want to give a huge shout out and thank you to our dear friend Cindy who helped so much with Smooch while he was sick. Couldn’t have done it without you! Thanks again friend! ♥️ And thank you to our vet Dr. White for being there for us in these emergency situations!
Don’t know what it is about listening to a horse eat it’s food but its got to be the most relaxing thing to listen to so enjoy this video of the old man with his breakfast 🐴
