Bright Horizons serves a broad range of enthusiastic and hardworking riders.

Bright Horizons Therapeutic Riding Center exists to improve the physical and emotional well being of individuals and their families through therapeutic equestrian activities built on professionalism and trust with

a focus on community education, communication and teamwork. Although the majority of our programs are designed for riders with special needs, we also offer classes for able-bodied, independent and advanced riders. Founded in 2004
Originally based in Lincoln City, Oregon, Bright Horizons moved to its current location in 2007. Hosted by Walker Farms in Siletz, Oregon, the Bright Horizons Therapeutic Riding Center is a member center of PATH International - Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (formerly North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA)). Non-profit
Bright Horizons Therapeutic Riding Center is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in good standing with the Oregon Secretary of State. We have an active Board of Directors, staff and many dedicated volunteers. Community Service
Our staff and volunteers are available to conduct a variety of educational and awareness programs that help support our primary mission. These programs include field trips, equine-awareness opportunities for challenged youth, public speaking engagements, and other types of community-based events.

Role of the equine in THR
Types of Therapeutic riding

Wishing everyone a great weekend! Below is DRIFTER! Did you know?? Drifter is the oldest program horse of 28 years old! He requires some extra supplements and care due to his age, but thanks to donor support, the Bright Horizons team keeps Drifter happy and healthy. Drifter especially loves trotting in lessons and of course getting treats after a job well done. Bright Horizons hosted a PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, Intl.) Interactive Vaulting workshop! Instructors from across the country came to participate and lean how to incorporate vaulting into their therapeutic riding programs. Bright horizons staff and participants also were able to participate and benefit from the training!

Our very youngest participant Autumn is enjoying Interactive Vaulting! Working on core strength, balance, hand/eye coordination, and social skills are all incorporated into her ride on Juli!
