This is Claire with her new little family. When I cut back as part of mostly retiring, Claire went to Southern Pride Labradors in North Carolina. She had already been bred to my Blizzard, who also went to Southern Pride Labradors. She just had her beautiful puppies and my friend Ramone at Southern Pride Labradors wants to let my friends who follow Sunny Daze Labradors know that there are puppies available in this litter. This was a breeding between two of my favorite dogs and I am excited to see these puppies develop. Go Lauren!!

This is Lauren. She’s a fully qualified electrician working for a large company. She spent five years doing an apprenticeship and knows the job inside out. But, despite this, she often gets abuse from customers and strangers. One man even stopped her in the street and shouted; “a female electrician, what has the world come to”, while others ask her if she’s even capable of getting the job done or lifting heavy things. But Lauren doesn’t let this hold her back. If anything it spurs her on. She’s now determined to prove that trade careers are not just for men - and hopes to inspire other young girls to pursue careers in the industry too. You go Lauren....

I realize that I talked about this in the comment section of a post, but thought I should do this in a more formal way. For 28 years I have had a love affair with English Labradors and have had the joy of raising them. In that time I have made so many friends as I have placed puppies. All of you have become almost family to me and I will miss that so much. I thank each one of you for your friendship and support especially this past year when I lost Gerald so suddenly. I still need to sell the current litters but that will be the end. I know I will miss the puppy snuggles but life has a way of changing and I’m trying to adjust to those changes. God has been so faithful my whole life and I know I can trust him with whatever the future holds. God bless each of you and know I will think fondly of our friendship over the years.

Great kids!

“I drive a school bus and have a 6 grader who I would like to talk about.
Last week he was talking about an elderly neighbor not leaving her house for weeks. I tried to explain how hard it could be for her to do things. On Tuesday I pulled up and he wasn't at the stop waiting. I looked over and saw him shoveling her porch. I was early so I waited for him. The other kids asked why I waited. I said anyone helping someone deserves a few extra minutes. All the kids started asking him questions about his neighbor. The next day 7 children got on the bus with blankets, food and cards for the elderly woman. I delivered them after worked. Now everyday she stands on the porch and the whole bus waves good morning. I am so proud of him for stepping up and doing the right thing. He taught all the children something important. I smile with pride in my heart because of the extraordinary children I have on my bus.” ❤

I think this is such good counsel- not everyone is cut out for college and with so many trade schools out there, kids can find their niche.

"He stood before me, looking suddenly very small, and said, 'I don’t think I want to go to college. School is too much for me.' I looked at my baby and said, 'OK, you don’t have to go. Let’s discuss options.' I could feel the air release from his lungs."

I wish there were more parents that recognized this part of their responsibility as a parent.

Good Story....

This morning a few people saw my daughter walking to school & me following behind her. Some asked me why I did that & others gave me a stank stare.

I’m very well aware she’s only 10. And she walked Because I told her to.

Because she forgot how to treat adults, So I told her to walk.
Because she mistakenly associated her size with her authority, So I told her to walk.
Because her behavior towards me & other adults is unacceptable,So I told her to walk

Until she can appreciate the free ride to/from school. Respect and listen to me. I'm the mom who is watching to know that she's safe. I'm also the mom who is not here to be her friend. I'm the mom who is okay with her child being angry at her sometimes. I'm the mom who is desperate to leave this world better than I found it, through the people I'm bringing up into it.

A lot of people are so afraid to hurt their kid's feelings, but she'll only be mad at me for a little while.
I'm more afraid of my kid growing up to be an entitled as***le.

We're not here to be their friends. We're here to make sure they grow up to become a friend worth having. So yeah she was walking. Thinking. Reflecting. Maturing. Learning. Growing.
And I'm watching. ❤️
