A few new things at the PET Dog Park! Added a new log bench overlooking the big pond! AND ... we added about 11 koi fish - some to the big pond and some to the small pond, which is still under construction. Guests of the Dog Park now get to feed the fish as part of their experience here. Don't you want to check it out for you and your pups? Got a call from Jasper County Sheriff’s Dept … family of mama and 8 puppies were abandoned at a house in Buna by the people abandoning a house.

INTRODUCING ... PET Miata Group is a recently formed group for Mazda Miata and pet owners. Its purpose is to offer a social group for Miata owners to bond together for a cause – the love of pets!
Car owners who have fur babies and love wagging tails have an opportunity to create connections and friendships with other Miata enthusiasts while promoting animal welfare.

The PET Miata Group plans to organize events and charity rides to raise awareness and funds to promote pet planning, an overlooked, but much needed preventative in the animal welfare world.

Paws for thought ...
We might like to think dogs are special for some of the traits we value in humans, such as intelligence, selflessness or a loving nature. But really dogs are exceptional for simply being dogs.

Dogs have rich emotional lives in which they can coexist with different species, and even forge bonds outside of their own species.

Just notified that the Vermont Veterinary Medical Association is adding a page on pet estate planning, with links to the PET, on their website (see below). They will also be communicating the PET and its services to their membership in their monthly newsletter, and including the PET in a press release coming out next week! Thanks to Linda Waite-Simpson and the Vermont VMA leadership for recognizing this important issue.
