Hi Neighbors!

This will be the last market of the 2024 season (markets will start back in April 2025)! But, there is still so much happening on the farm this Fall, and we will continue to grow all winter. We donate the winter produce to Shepherd's Table (find out more about our Sponsor A Delivery program here)!

This Friday is the Harvest Dance for those who have tickets! Next Thursday there is a Halloween Parade starting and ending at the farm, and then we welcome you to drop off your pumpkins to be part of our annual Pumpkin Light Up Nights (and pumpkin composting)! .

Thank you for all of your support this season!
Hannah & the whole CKC Farming Team

PARKING AT KOINER FARM:

Yes, after 5pm, there is free on-street parking. For this Thursday, my blind neighbor is in the hospital so you can park across the street.
On Grove Street, there is parking on my blacktop parking lot but there is a huge dump truck there (good friend). Still there can be enough parlking.

HOWEVER, if you run your car on my flowers, you will be permanently banned from parking on my property. Someone has destroyed my allium patch and others run over my fencing on Grove Street.

I cleaned up in tomatoes. My Dahlia and Herbs won Grand Champion as well. Check photos on Lynn Koiner FB age.

One the far left, you will see 2 Pomegranates with a story on how they have lots of berries inside but the squirrels only left these 2 on the tree.
There is a black berry in the middle, covered by a pink card. These are Huckleberries. The note says that from seed to berries only took 4 months! The figs ripened the day before I had to submit my entries. I kept praying to Charlie to ripen them up and they did. Mine also won 1st and 2nd prize for FRUIT OTHER. Next year they will have a fig category.

I am selling FIGS, TOMATOES, RHUBARB, HOT & SWEET PEPPERS -- and, of course, flowers and honey. I won lots of prizes for flowers despite the stiff competition. I cannot enter honey as Jim, my beekeeper, is a judge.

I have $1400 to sell before December 31 and I will be away in October so I have a lot of selling to do.

Email when you want to come by -- I sell all the time, not just on Thursdays from 5-pm. [email protected]

I just ordered this plant yesterday after seeing it at the Glenstone Museum in the Potomac area (I took Shady Grove until it became Piney Meetinghouse Rd and then turned on Glen Road -- there is a ride-on that goes there).
The Native Americans thought that it healed snake bites but the bees love it. It will cone in a month. I will put it in the herb garden for full sun.
It is called Rattlesnake Master!

I will have rhubarb all summer because I just pick a little at a time. I have a little to pick - once a week. This is a great recipe. Ina likes the Trader Joe pie crust and I do too. She lists her favorites in the article.

Raspberry Rhubarb Crostata from Barefoot Contessa. For the pastry, place the flour, granulated sugar, and salt in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the steel blade. Pulse a few times to combine. Add the butter and toss carefully with your fingers to coat each cube of butter with the flour.…

The yoga group started back and I believe yoga at the farm adds good energy. Remember, all groups that meet on the Koiner Farm are never charged by the owner BUT the Yoga Group charges a small fee for attendees. It is well worth the fee.

A CRAZY PERSON JUST CALLED - he said that the government is now injecting CVid vaccine into our vegetables and wanted to know if we were injecting the vaccine into our vegetables.

Putin will love this guy, buying into his propaganda. FYI - no, we are not injecting vaccine into our vegetables.
