We are a Non-Profit Corporation who rehabilitates injured or sick wild horses and foals from the range in hopes to release them back to the wild. If they can’t go back to the Wild then they are placed in appropriate homes.

I spent time with Shakira and Mystic during they’re training yesterday! First time for leg wraps and bridle (since joining the LBL rescues). Both did very well after less than 2 weeks with Jasmine Odell!

These two will be available for adoption early December so don’t wait! A great opportunity to own one of these sweet girls and participate in their training!

It’s Volunteer Day tomorrow from 10 am - noon! Come on out and muck a stall, brush a horse, love on the minis!

Mystic had no problems loading up into the trailer!

We’re excited to let all of you know two more LBL rescues have gone off to training at Odell Horse Training, LLC!

Volunteer Day is scheduled for tomorrow from 10 - noon IF the weather holds out!

I spent time at Odell Horse Training this afternoon, mainly because my mare has been there for 60 days and will be coming home on Monday!!

BUT, this also gave me a chance to see where Blue was after his first 30 days with Jasmine Odell! Blue’s progress has been so exciting to watch…he now leads, ties, picks up all 4 feet, and has started round pen work. I am so pleased with his progress.

As my mare returns, we have 2 more heading off for 30-days worth of training! We’ll announce on Monday which ones we’ve selected and we will be posting their progress as well!

Brittany and I did a site inspection for Blue’s new home on Sunday and his paperwork has been completed! In our adoption contract, we added that Blue would complete no less than 3 months worth of additional training at Odell Horse Training and his new owner agreed!

So, congratulations to Kerry and Blue! We can’t wait to see the progress the two of you make!!! We’re so excited for both of you!

Stay tuned! Monday we will announce the next rescue or rescues heading to 30-days of training with Jasmine!

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

All of us here at LBL Equine Rescue are excited to announce that Blue is in adoption pending!!! We feel Kerry and Blue will be amazing partners with so much ahead! Blue will remain in training with Jasmine at Odell Horse Training for a minimum of 90 days! After our home visit, it will be final!

Congratulations to both! ♥️

Friendly reminder that we are still closed! Here’s a picture of Blue after he got his mane brushed out! Blue is learning to stand tied and that grooming isn’t so bad after all!

Today was a Blue day! I am just so impressed on how far Jasmine has gotten with Blue in less than a week! He is picking up his front hooves, learning that the lunge line will not hurt him, getting his fly mask off and on (going on is a little scary for him), getting a halter on and getting him to pick up his hind legs! He’s enjoying his face being rubbed! All these things are so important to setting a foundation for him and desensitizing him to the things that scare him.

I’m attaching a video where you can see how Jasmine uses the rope to gently get it over his head in preparation for his halter. She does not ‘rope’ him, but has worked on rubbing it over his body so he becomes used to it. Eventually, the rope will no longer be needed. Remember, Blue has been abused and neglected and he’s getting a new start!

Best of all, he let me rub his head and his neck, leaning into me and allowing me to give him a kiss! ♥️

Blue has made huge progress in such a short time! He flinches less when being haltered, picks up his front hooves and definitely loves scratches!

I’m looking forward to seeing him tomorrow! ♥️

We knew Blue had an abscess prior to the farrier coming out, but treating it was impossible. So Jasmine spent time getting him used to putting his hoof into a bucket of water. Today they will start using a solution to help heal the abscess. Blue also learned that fly spray isn’t so scary after all and he did very well!

Blue left yesterday for Odell Horse Training and is settling in nicely! Jasmine even got his fly mask on! If you recall, Blue was one of three who came from an abuse/neglect case. It seemed obvious that lead lines or ropes were part of his abuse so Jasmine spent time desensitizing him and lunging him in the arena before he left. I’ll be keeping you updated on his progress! More pictures in the comments. I know he is going to make someone an amazing partner! ♥️
