I saw a post on Facebook the other day where a concerned daughter was asking if her parents that are in their 70’s could handle bringing a puppy into their home.
To do it correctly, HAVING A PUPPY IS HARD!
But it is harder if you don’t!
If you are in your 70’s and you think you can handle having an infant, by all means get a puppy. But if you don’t think you could handle an infant, don’t get a puppy because it’s really hard.
There are thousands of 2-3 year old dogs begging to be adopted that are likely already potty trained and would be wonderful companions for a long time. Just like a puppy, training will be necessary but your life will be manageable.

If you put in the work, both you and your dog benefit.
Look how happy Uni is because of the freedom she has.
And she earned that freedom because of excellent behavior and excellent obedience.
It does take work and effort but having an off-leash trained dog makes your life easier and your relationship with your pup flourish.
