Debbie and Remy working on recall while Remy is in free walk. In order to have reliable recall with your pup, you have to practice. Good work Debbie and Remy! #dogtraining #puppytraining #dogtrainingtips #puppytrainingtips #virtualdogtraining #virtualpuppytraining
Check out Debbie and Remy working on “sit”, “down”, and “come” using hand signals only. This takes alot of hard work and practice. Nice work Debbie and Remy!! #dogtraining #puppytraining #dogtrainingtips #puppytrainingtips #virtualdogtraining #virtualpuppytraining
Do you want to test if your recall is any good? Try mixing playing and training. Nothing is more distracting for Uni than the ball. If she will come to me while playing ball, she will come to me under any circumstances. #dogtraining #puppytraining #dogtrainingtips #puppytrainingtips #virtualdogtraining #virtualpuppytraining
Consistency with your pup is essential for obedience success. You as the pack leader need to give commands, rewards and corrections the same way to your pup every time. The pack leader also has the responsibility to make sure everyone in the household does the same.
Our pups do not understand the spoken word. They associate words and actions and the simpler and more consistent we keep things for them, the better our chances for success are.
Say commands once so your pup knows you mean business.
Use only the words they can associate with actions and don’t use word salads.
Make sure everyone in the household does the same.
Those 3 keys will greatly help your pups obedience.
If you need additional help with your pup, DM me and it will be my pleasure to help.

Mixing playing and training helps both you and your pup have fun and introduces distractions into your training. There is nothing more distracting for Uni than the ball and if she will listen to commands while playing ball, she will listen under any circumstances. #dogtraining #puppytraining #dogtrainingtips #puppytrainingtips #virtualdogtraining #virtualpuppytraining
How do you handle walking with your dog in a tight area such as a sidewalk or a narrow trail? You will always want to advocate for your dog and keep them out of a potential harmful situation. This prompted us to create the “switch” command where while walking you instruct your puppy to go behind you and get on your right side. And if you practice it enough you can do it without breaking stride like Jack/Magnum and Tara/Ronin are doing. #dogtraining #puppytraining #dogtrainingtips #germanshepherd #puppytrainingtips #virtualdogtraining #virtualpuppytraining
Check out Ronin and Tara working on the “come” command in a high distraction environment. With all the training and hard work, what we are really doing is creating a great relationship with our pups. Look how happy Ronin is when she finds Tara👏👏. Tara has become a great pack leader and it’s very obvious how tight they are!! #dogtraining #puppytraining #dogtrainingtips #puppytrainingtips #virtualdogtraining #virtualpuppytraining
“Drop it” and “leave it” are really important commands for your pup to learn as young as possible. Here we have Reagan working with Glen on “drop it”. Nice job Reagan & Glen!! #dogtraining #puppytraining #dogtrainingtips #puppytrainingtips #virtualdogtraining #virtualpuppytraining
Th first step in reliable recall is creating a great event when our puppies come to us just like Jolie is doing for Glen. We want our puppies coming to us wagging their tail exactly the way Glen is here. Keep up the good work Jolie! #dogtraining #puppytraining #puppytraining #puppytrainingtips #virtualdogtraining #virtualpuppytraining
Check out Tara and Ronin working on an off-leash heel. Dog training is not a sprint, it’s a marathon and it’s takes a lot of practice and great confidence to be able to accomplish this in an environment full of distractions. Keep up the great work Tara & Ronin!!👏👏 #dogtraining #puppytraining #dogtrainingtips #puppytrainingtips #virtualdogtraining #virtualpuppytraining
Jolie working on “sit” and “free” with Glen. At 15 weeks, Glen is already responding to a hand signal only a@d responding to the release “free”. By teaching the release “free”, commands such as “stay” and “wait” are unnecessary. There is no need to be negotiating with our puppies. Give them a command and they stay there until they are given another command or released with “free”. Good work Jolie and Glen! #dogtraining #puppytraining #dogtrainingtips #puppytrainingtips #virtualdogtraining #virtualpuppytraining
Natalie and Bowie are working on “sit”, “free”, and “down”. All lessons are being done via zoom as Natalie and Bowie are in Belgium and Bowie is learning commands in English and French. Some day, all basic obedience will be done virtually as there is no need for me as a trainer to have a relationship with your dog. What is necessary is that you have a relationship with your dog and that is what I show you how to do. Nice work Natalie and Bowie!! #dogtraining #puppytraining #dogtrainingtips #puppytrainingtips #virtualdogtraining #virtualpuppytraining
