Holidays are around the corner, Labor Day barbecues and Halloween candy galore are approaching fast. Please be cautious about these foods with your pets. The barbecue food can cause upset stomachs and pancreatitis, the chocolate and xylitol risks in candies are toxic to most animals.

Mosquitoes and fleas are running amuck again. Remember to give your pets flea and heartworm prevention on time every month. For options you can visit capcvet.org, the American heartworm society website or Zoetis. I recommend Simparica Trio for dogs and Revolution Plus for cats but there are many options available and you can discuss them with your vet at your next appointment.
