Good afternoon, Doggie in the Window family. We are pleased to provide an update on the kennel cough situation. Fortunately, we have not had any dogs exhibiting coughing symptoms this week. It seems that we have overcome this challenge. If your dog is coughing, please continue to keep them home until all symptoms have disappeared or until they have finished their antibiotic regimen.

We are grateful for the calls regarding coughing dogs and are still receiving reports of coughing dogs, with some cases dating back as far as one month. We are closely monitoring the situation and kindly request that you inform us if your dog is coughing, including the onset of symptoms. We note that our facility currently does not have any dogs coughing.

Attention Doggie in the Window family:
It has come to our attention that many dogs that have been coming in for daycare and boarding, have been coughing. We have been noticing it the past couple of days as well. If your dog is coughing, please keep them home and inform us immediately.

Signs of kennel cough include:

Persistent, hacking cough: Often described as a "honking" or "goose-like" sound.
Runny nose: May produce clear or yellowish mucus.

Sneezing: Frequent sneezing may accompany the cough.

Lethargy: Dogs may become less active and show reduced appetite.

Fever: In some cases, a mild fever may be present.

Sensitivity to the trachea: Gently pressing on the dog's windpipe can trigger a cough.

Other symptoms may include eye discharge, vomiting, and difficulty breathing in severe cases. It's important to note that kennel cough can sometimes be mistaken for other respiratory infections, such as canine influenza. If your dog exhibits any of these symptoms, consult a veterinarian for proper diagnosis and treatment

All of these lists of symptoms were taken directly from google, so you all may stay informed!
