Please welcome Erin Brett as the new manager of Paw Meadow Dog Park! We'll be working to transition Erin over the coming weeks. Please say hello when you see her at the park!

"My name is Erin, I'm 24 years old, and I couldn't be more pleased to be the new manager of Paw Meadow. I grew up in Simsbury and have loved going to Paw Meadow with my family's dogs and now my own dog, Piper. I am the office manager of Welden Hardware and was a veterinary technician for 5 years. I have a deep love for animals and a desire to be more connected to my community, so I can't wait to continue all of the great work Nikki has done and continue to grow the Paw Meadow family!"

Congratulations and Welcome Erin!

After 14 years of volunteering for Paw Meadow Dog Park, first as a committee member, and then as our manager, Nikki Perry is resigning from her position. As she rides off on her next adventure (window open and tongue out!), we wish her well and thank her for her many years of dedication and hard work. With her departure, our park is in need of a new steward to take over responsibilities and carry Paw Meadow forward with improvements, oversee maintenance and continue to preserve the park. If you are interested in helping to keep this award winning, volunteer sustained, town amenity beautiful, please reach out to Culture, Parks and Recreation Director, Tom Tyburski at [email protected].

That's a big pile of rotten table! Sadly, one of our original picnic tables inside the park has weathered so much, it's just not safe, or salvageable. We have two other smaller benches that are also on their way. Not too bad for over 10 years in the park, providing a comfy place for people and pets to relax. Please, if you can donate a sturdy picnic table or two in good condition, or build and donate a new one, we would be so thankful. Remember, we are wholly volunteer maintained and supported by our visitors donations. Please donate today!

IT'S HAPPENING!! Tomorrow, work will begin to install our new water fountain! We will do our best to post any necessary closures in advance. We received a grant to help offset the cost as a direct result of the hard work of the Simsbury/Granby Rotary and the Town of Simsbury Parks and Recreation Department! Please know that we still need to pay for installation, and, as always, we need donations so we can continue to maintain the park, which includes buying waste bags and waste service. If you visit the park, please make a donation today! PLEASE HELP KEEP PAW MEADOW OPEN!

Please keep your eyes out for a bracelet that says "Sweet Sixteen" in the park. It was possibly lost there on 1/11 by a visitor between 2-4 pm. It is of great sentimental value. If found, please notify us. Thank you!

Can we get a hearty THANK YOU to Craig Dubosar of Dubosar Irrigation for his hard work today? Craig spent several hours of his own time (and equipment) re-grading and spreading chips in the park! Craig has been our "go-to" guy for this very necessary maintenance for many years. We appreciate you Craig! We are grateful for your time and efforts! And to his Pup, Fiona, who kept special watch while Dad worked! Please consider a donation to help us repair and renew our water fountains! Link in bio.

A quick PSA to all our visitors, please do not allow your dogs to dig, particularly under the fence line! Please fill in any holes using the shovel and rake that will be hanging on the side of the Dog House. Also, we have an update on our lack of water! We hope a temporary fix will be in place within the next 2 weeks. We are working on a more permanent solution as well and will share information on that soon. Thank you!
