An unfortunate end to the hunting season for Abbey. Her and Ozzie were chasing a rabbit, and I think Ozzie stepped on a stick and it caught her behind the shoulder. 20+ staples later and a drain and we hope that she can heal quickly! Crazy bad luck!

The saga of Abbey “destroyer of cones” continues….
After no incidents of violence against her t-shirt protector, she took a few moments of freedom post potty to thoughtfully remove 2 of her staples to create a drain hole for her wound/seroma.
So now back to the cone, but not a cushy foam one…bets on how long it will last?
Already need to call in duct tape reinforcements after a few hours. 😤👿

When you get 14 staples after running through a barbed wire fence, are unhappy with the “cone of shame” and shred it into a million pieces….
then you must wear a tshirt.

My friend shot a buck this morning. And decided to take Abbey out to see what she would do. She followed the track very well. At one point she took the wrong trail and corrected herself fairly quickly. When she saw the deer she froze and didn't know what to do!

Unfortunately Lucas never got a shot today but the dogs did great at finding birds! Gotta love the versatility, blood tracking for Ozzie yesterday and bird hunting today.

Ozzie was able to track and locate his second deer for the year this morning. He is currently 2/4 for the year on recoveries.

So the last of the puppies went home last weekend. We are keeping two of the females to train and run through the tests and breedshow. I think they are a little lost that all of their litter mates have disappeared! But they will get the hang of things shortly.

It's been an interesting couple days. We are attending the Midwest North meeting in Wisconsin Dells with the last four puppies! They have had a bunch of firsts! First time in a truck, first time with a collar and lead, first time staying in a hotel and first time sleeping all four in a crate!

Two more puppies went home today! Again it is bittersweet to see them go but exciting for the possibilities that await them with their new owners and families!

Can't believe it's been 8 weeks already and puppies are on there way home to start their new adventure! It's been an amazing experience and would like to wish the owners the best!

It was a big day here. The pups got tattooed, microchipped, and blood drawn. As you can see the pillows are now green! But after a few hours they act like nothing happened. Still have one female available!

I went to judge for 3 days and when I returned the puppies had gotten huge! I was also nice and brought them a present!
