It’s National Veterinary Technician Week! We ♥️ our techs, and want to recognize them as the wonderful, caring, and unique people they each are.

Tonight we’re recognizing Gabby! As Dr. Merritt’s surgery tech, she often assists with anesthesia and prep for a variety of orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. She manages treatments for both medical and surgical hospital cases, and (her most challenging work 😉) keeps Dr. Merritt in line. This lady loves her Great Pyranese pups, chickens, goats, and geese. We have no idea how Gabby juggles so much, while staying cool as the coolest cucumber. Please join us in thanking Gabby for always being a reassuring and loving presence for your sweet pets!

Tonight we’re recognizing Marae! As Appointment and Floater tech, she helps our exam room visits flow smoothly, and balances the needs of our clients and patients with the often demanding schedule of our clinic. Marae has been quickly acclimating to our busy clinic, while absorbing the massive amount of info needed to function as a technician. As of this week, Marae will be taking a pause for maternity leave as she will be welcoming a new (human 😉) baby into her life 💙 Please join us in thanking Marae for her loving care of your furry family members!

Today we’re recognizing Maggie! Maggie has been an absolute asset to SAH for 9 years. This lady is small but mighty, and is a whirlwind of energy…always getting things done! As Dr. Matt Samuelson’s surgery tech, Maggie assists in and preps for many orthopedic procedures- from fractures to TPLO’s - she can simultaneously anticipate the needs of her surgeon and the anesthesic needs of her patients. Maggie manages the technician schedule, and takes the lead as Head Tech. Pitt Bulls, bulldogs, and boxers are some of her squishy-faced favorites. Today we’re recognizing Celia! Celia began as a receptionist for SAH, and later branched out into her role as an invaluable technician. She loves German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Chickens, Racoons…seems like this sweet lady is an all-around animal lover. As Dr. Jaclyn Samuelson’s surgery tech, she monitors anesthesia, preps for surgeries, and helps to manage hospital cases- often taking care of critical-condition parvovirus puppies. When she’s not at the clinic, Celia might be found getting a new tattoo, gaming, or playing ball with her Noah’s Hope foster; Belgian Mal, Indie. She does the important behind-the-scenes work of keeping our diagnostic blood machines running smoothly, monitors anesthesia, preps for surgeries, manages hospital cases, and (her most challenging work:) keeps Dr. Saulsbury in line. She helps the clinic run smoothly in exam rooms, surgery, and behind the scenes- from repairing medical equipment to acting as our clinics “technology tech” to being the resident cat wrangler, she does it all. As Dr. Johnson’s surgery tech, she monitors anesthesia, preps for surgeries, and helps to manage hospital cases. This lady always has a creative idea for how to help care for others- whether it’s a patient or a fellow employee.
