The best way you can protect YOUR pet from remaining lost or ending up at the shelter or vet office is to microchip.

All stray animals are chip checked upon arrival at our shelter so we can contact their owners as soon as possible. Microchipping is a small device that gets inserted like a vaccine. It stores the owner's contact information to help your animal make it home.

SFAHS provides microchipping services for $20 and no appointment necessary! Just bring your animal in during our hours to be microchipped! Please keep in mind that you do need to update your contact information when moving or changing phone numbers.

After adopting Boogeyman, following the loss of their childhood cat, his new family found joy again in their new furry companion. 💙

Boogeyman earned his nickname after scaring his new owner one night at 4 am by hiding around the corner and jumping out at them. 🌙
