Last week it was an honor and my pleasure to be invited to speak at Pawsabilities Rescue in Skippack. It was Pet Care Kids Camp week. We talked about how cool it is to work in a career with animals. As the 4th of July celebrations get under way, please remember to keep your furry family members safe & sound at home. Use extra caution during this time. Check fences, make sure that collars are secure with current ID tags, and keep pets safe inside your home. Our shelters will be closed to the public in observation of the holiday on July 4th, but we will have staff providing care for the homeless pets that are currently staying with us.
Have a safe & happy holiday!

Help Save Tahoe

Tahoe is the sweetest, shy, scruffy terrier mix who came to our facility on 4/21. Unfortunately, he quickly became sick with an upper respiratory infection. He was seen by our vet and swiftly put onto medication, but after a few days, it became clear that those meds were not enough. On Sunday, April 28th he was admitted to Valley Central Emergency Vet. Since that time, he has been on oxygen, battling pneumonia.

Tahoe came to our organization from our rescue partner in Georgia. He was found in a rough neighborhood with two other dogs, with hair loss from demodex mange. At just a year old, Tahoe has been through so much in his short life. His skin was just starting to heal and hair growing back. He is now battling for his life with a guarded prognosis.

We want to continue to give him a fighting chance, but his vet bill is already estimated to be close to $6,000 with our rescue discount. He must be on oxygen 24/7, which is expensive. We are hoping that he starts to improve but are following the skilled assessment of the veterinarians caring for him for our next steps. He is a fighter, so we need your help to keep the fight going

Please help if you can. Every donation makes a difference.

Facebook friends, we need your help! This is Toby and although he looks very happy in these photos he is really struggling here at the shelter. Toby is a 1 ½ year old Labrador/Basset Hound that was surrendered after the birth of a baby. Although the family stated that Toby was good with the existing children in the home, they didn’t want to keep him once the new baby was born. When Toby arrived here it was very clear that he hadn’t been socialized well with new people. He was timid and insecure and it took him quite some time to trust the staff. He now adores the staff, but he is still timid with new people which doesn’t make finding him a home easy because most people are put off by the way he acts in the kennel. Toby is reportedly housebroken, crate trained, and good with other dogs. He is a smart pooch that knows sit, stay, lay, and fetch. Toby has been here for over a month with no serious adoption interest. He needs an owner that will give him time to trust, time to decompress, and one that will be willing to work with him moving forward to help him overcome his trust issues. We know there must be somebody out there that is ready to help Toby become the best version of himself, could that be you?
Toby is waiting to meet his new family at our Perkiomenville shelter located at 1059 Sweisford Rd Perkiomenville, Pa 18074. If you cannot adopt, please share his post so we can try to find him the best home possible.

We have a beautiful female Grey tabby cat for adoption. She arrived at our Pet Hotel about two weeks ago. She was hiding in our bushes, meowing, meowing. Of course we were able to catch her. She has since been vaccinated and spayed. Her tail was injured and a portion needed to be amputated due to infection. She is using litter box and is very sweet and loving. Comfortably with dogs..
Please call to see her.

Happy Birthday! CHARLENES PET SITTING SERVICES, INC
Charlene's Pet Services
2/1/1989-2/1/2024

This is a tribute to the many wonderful pets and their parents that we have had the pleasure of knowing and caring for over the past 35 years.

We've seen many pets come and go over all these years. We cherish them all as if they were our own. They are remembered fondly.

Heres to the awesome team of caregivers that I call Family. They have worked faithful by my side for years to keep this ship floating along. It wouldn't have been possible with out you all. I have learned so much from you. I am proud to say you're part of this journey.

Much Love and gratitude to everyone.
