As I sit here selecting various pics of the farm for our realtor, so many awesome memories arise, and make me feel fortunate to have enjoyed the farm life for many years!!! I will be posting more pics during this process, but would encourage friends to peruse this FB page and share in the memories, find recipes, and maybe get inspired to garden, can veggies, raise chickens, handcraft soaps, etc.!!! The farm will be on the market soon, as we are selling, but thank everyone, especially our CSA members from a few years past, for all of the fun and support!!!

A very special memory of mine is picking funky looking apples from our tree in Ludlow, and my Grandma Murphy helping me peel, cut into chunks, and simmer in a little bit of water until nice and soft, but still a little chunky... and we'd add just enough sugar to cut the tartness of the apples. I honestly think this experience very much influenced my amazement that we can forage, grow, and harvest our own food, and turn a little, tart apple into a delicious treat.

A delicious apple crisp that’s just perfect for the fall season. Good with blueberries, too! (Use one quart.)

Don't let the little bruises and spots on a freshly picked apple fool you! Just mother nature at her best, and lets you know no spraying involved to keep the apples pretty for the produce aisle. Tim picked a few apples last weekend and we've had apple crisp-galore! So quick and easy and I can't stop making (and yes, eating) it! 😍 🍎🍏❤

As we all know, this is the time of year for an abundance of tomatoes, but not everybody enjoys canning! Today's CSA bags contain a great info sheet regarding freezing raw tomatoes to use year-round, and because we love our veggies roasted, this post shares a great recipe to roast tomatoes, as well as yummy ideas to use them in meals. AND...... you can freeze them! Hopefully this will help those of you who don't can enjoy Woodruff Farms tomatoes throughout the year :)

We all rely on them to pollinate our food sources, whether that 🐝 our veggies, fruits, trees, etc!! So crucial to our world!! And the honey.. yummmmm..😍

Perfect way to cool down without heating up the kitchen ~ making sun tea with herbs from the garden! 🍃☀️ I filled my quart Mason jar half-full of lemon balm and orange mint from the garden, topped it off with water, capped it, and after a few hours in the sun I'll remove the herbs, pop in the fridge and enjoy a yummy citrus-mint iced tea tomorrow after work! And the chickens will love the strained herbs, so we'll all be cool, healthy, and happy 😎 🐔

easy crock pot tomato paste

Simple, Simple!!!!!! This actually uses up a lot of tomatoes! we ended up roasting several pans prior to simmering in crock pot... just tomatoes, fresh garlic, and a drizzle of olive oil... we didn't salt ours. Your kitchen will smell heavenly!
