Dixie doodles is all about our Goldendoodles Genesis and Exodus, with a focus on Genesis' puppies.

PART THIRTEEN
All of Genesis puppies grew and developed the precious personalities that Goldendoodle puppies always do! They started eating origin puppy food at 4 weeks and started pad training at 5 weeks. They all started going to the puppy pad immediately upon it being introduced! Naturally, they're not 100%, but these puppies are so so smart and all have their special personalities.

They have been human socialized daily. They also were very attentive to the foster puppies. Of the two that survived, one of them was very tiny. When they were playing, they naturally were more gentle with him than his little brother. It's amazing how dogs just know!

We are brand new at the puppy business, but we intentionally selected our Genesis and the daddy dog, river, because of their excellent genetics, temperament, and intelligence. Genesis's siblings have frequently been used as service dogs, emotional support animals, and therapeutic pets. I believe all of these puppies could easily fit into those categories or just a regular family pet. They are so brilliant! It is time for them to find their forever home.

PART TWELVE
So we had to save the orphaned pups. We picked them up the next morning. Only five had survived. Genesis accepted them right away. This was the FIRST time they ever nursed. They were 4 days old at this point. To make sure everyone got enough, we bottle fed them AND let them nurse. Genesis was talking care of FOURTEEN PUPPIES, but she handled it perfectly. Sadly, over the next three weeks, three more of the English bulldog puppies passed. The final two made it and went home at eight weeks, 1 day.

PART TEN
Finally, around 3:00pm, the pups started coming! And coming and coming ... all the way until 11:45pm. She had NINE total. All healthy and all chocolate brown.

PART NINE
When I arrived home it was clearly time!!!! Her milk was in and ready to nourish. We just had to wait a bit.

Early morning on April 3, I was watching security camera from work and saw some clear nesting behavior!

PART SEVEN
While we were at the vet, a sweet English Bulldog was having a c-section with two expected pups. There were TEN!!! Sadly, one passed after about 45 minutes. Another had a cleft pallet, but the other eight were perfect!
*This becomes relevant later.*

PART SIX
We started checking her temp daily and were worried when it dipped to 99°F, and no puppies came. So we took her to have a progesterone check on Friday, March 31. They said about three more days. So we waited.

Her belly was HUGE!!! (March 29 @ 8w1d post first tie)

On the puppy count x-ray at 8 weeks, they counted 6 pups.

Genesis' belly got bigger and bigger, so we guessed 5 or six pups. (6 weeks along).

On March 10, Genesis had a pregnancy confirming ultrasound. The tech guessed 3 or 4 pups.

On January 29, 2023, Genesis met up with River to breed. It was both of their first time, but all went perfectly!!
