Early July I worked for an outfit with a lease in the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming for awhile. Beautiful scenery. Great people to work with. Lots of cattle. We started c**ts, doctored some cattle, loaded semis. Horses all got good experience.

Packed into the Bob Marshall Wilderness for a couple days in Northwest Montana. Lots of pretty country out there. Some good experience for the horses. Spice, Gabbania, Trashy Jac, Captain Woodrow F Call, Scarlett, and Schoko. They were all a little better on the way down than on the way up.

Kings River was one of my last stops in June. The Thompson family and the rest of the crew are always great to me. Lots of branding on my older horses, and then Gabbania and Scarlett had some nice rides pushing cattle in the evening.

Dave Weavers branding clinic at Beatty Ranch in Winnett, MT. In late June we were huddled around the branding fire trying to stay warm. Some great people to rope with. We’ve all been getting better year after year. Lots of learning and fun. Trashy Jac, Jagger, and Captain Wooodrow F Call had some good rides and got to experience some branding. They all got better each day.

I took a couple fast trips to spend a day watching Frank Barnett earlier this spring. The most educated horseman I’ve met, and one of the hardest workers. A true mentor for many. I’m always thankful for those that give their time and energy to share the knowledge they’ve acquired.

Stopped at the 25 Ranch near Battle Mountain, Nevada to see some friends for a few days back in June. We pushed pairs around every day and branded a little as well. Some good cowboys and cowgirls to learn from.
