HOT OFF THE PRESS! Santa came early to deliver our Hometown Heroes 2025 calendars! You can stop by the shelter during our business hours to pick yours up. We had so many preorders that we have a limited number left for walk-ins. Featuring: our Hometown Police Officers, Firefighters, School Resource Officers, Military Veterans, Doctors, and Nurses. Trust us, you don't want to miss out! And a big THANK YOU to all the volunteers who came to take photos, we couldn't have done it without you!

We are very excited to announce that our 2025 Hometown Heroes Calendar fundraiser will arrive this Friday/Saturday!

If you'd like to preorder, please PRIVATE MESSAGE us here on Facebook with your name and # of calendars you'd like us to set aside for you. Here is what the front cover looks like! The calendars are $10 each and the funds will benefit the furry residents here at the Shelter. Pick-up will be at the shelter, 186 Transfer Station Rd.

A sneak peek at our Festival tree.

We are excited to once again participate in The Festival of Trees benefiting the Last Minute Toy Shop.

Festival of Trees officially opens tomorrow (Monday) evening, December 9 from 5-8 pm, DeKalb Co Complex Community Center at 712 S. Congress, Smithville.

Santa & Mrs Clause will be there for photos, and cookies & punch will be served. Vote for your favorite tree by placing a new, unwrapped gift (for children or teens) underneath.

These beautifully decorated trees were created by local businesses, churches and non-profit organizations and will remain for your enjoyment through the holiday season.
