🧡 2023 was a year of transition. I can honestly say I have the BEST group of clients, but I don't even like to call them clients, cause they have all become friends and family to me. When I say they are the BEST, I don't mean it cause they have deep pockets, high caliber horses, or even top of the line equipment. They have what is more valuable than anything you could ever put a price on.... They are loyal, genuine, honest, hard working, and most importantly FUN!! They make the hard times easier, and the good times unforgettable. To all of them.... THANK YOU for trusting me, following me, believing in me, keeping it FUN, and MOST importantly... allowing me to be a Mom as well and doing what I feel is best for June and I. June and I are blessed to have you all in our lives!!! As always.... Onward and Upward!🧡.

HUGE Congratulations to Madison McMillen and family on obtaining their new (and first) Horse, "Cim". Look for this new pair next Spring at the Barrel shows! Thanks so much to Erica & Maddie Croyle for giving them this opportunity!! He's a great one! I couldn't be more excited to watch them become a team. 🤠💙

When you look back on life can you remember who had the most impact on you? The person who pushed you beyond your comfort zone? The person who wouldn't let you settle for anything but your best? The person, who at the moment, you felt was incredibly hard on you, but now you realize they only wanted the best for you?

Was this person a school teacher? A sports coach? An employer at your first minimum wage job? More than likely it was someone who either was volunteering their time, or someone who showed up possibly in a pair of work boots and overalls.

They probably didn't show up in fancy attire, or in a luxury automobile. You probably didn't even notice any of their material assets to be honest.

I've been told many times over the years that I won't get rich working with horses. No kidding. However, I would bet my last dollar that in 20+ years you can ask any kid who grew up in a barn, and riding horses they will be able to tell you the impact it had on their life.... and I assure you it will have very little about riding horses, and a lot about life. And that my friends....is worth more than any financial status you could ever have. 🤠💛

Electrolytes in everyone's breakfast buckets for tomorrow morning, cause we are going to have significant weather change in the next 48 hours. As we know hydration, and ample quality hay will help the horses weather through it!!!
Oh, and we blew the dust off the torpedo heater as well to make sure it was ready to go. Stay warm everyone....it's gonna be bitter few days! 💙 🥶😭

"Courage is showing up, and letting ourselves be seen" I've shown at the World Show, Congress, and some of the biggest circuits in the country. However, I've never been this challenged in my non-pro or professional career with horses. I give credit and respect to all the EWD riders out there! What ya'll are doing is not easy!!! The prep work alone can be a challenge, and getting into the show pen is a bonus! Is it all worth it .... Today I was frustrated. I was overwhelmed. I had a busted pasture gate that needed replaced, horses needed fed, I had to go pick up a load of hay, stalls needed cleaned, a round Bale needed put out, the arena needed watered and dragged, and people were coming to ride. Many times it crosses my mind.... Is it all worth it?! All the work that goes into it all.... Is it all worth it?! Many times I just want to sit and cry, but there is no time for that either. Then this.... These moments remind me of what Horses can truly do for a person. They say horses give us wings, but to some they give legs as well. They heal broken hearts, they carry those who can not carry themselves, they are as good for the body as they are for the soul. This is "Bebe", and her owner, Tessa. Bebe is a 4 year old Quarter Horse mare, and Tessa isn't able to use her legs. She has to mount Bebe with a set of steps that her parents have to lift each leg one at a time up the steps. Meanwhile Bebe must stand patiently waiting for Tessa to get on her. Once Tessa is on she has a custom saddle that has a lap belt, and a back board. The back board has a Velcro strap that goes under Tessa's chest. Then we secure Tessa's feet in her stirrups using rubber bands. And then....Tessa gets her "legs" back. She gets to be "normal" for just a little bit. So.... To answer my question, "Is it all worth it?" .... Yes..... For everything a Horse can do for a person.... It is all worth it! ❤️🤠

I am a lesson horse. I am a horse that isn’t as recognized as the top hunter jumpers, the best western pleasure horse, or the 1D barrel horse, I am a lesson horse. I am the backbone of the foundation to do all of those things. I am a lesson horse. I am not loved by one person. I am loved by several people. I don’t have my person, I have my people. I am a lesson horse. I will teach your child and yourself more than just to ride. I will bring your child out of their shell. I will teach your child about life. At the end of your childs’ journey on a lesson horse, they will out grow me. They will find one that jumps higher, a horse that is show quality, a horse much faster than me. But, I will never outgrow being a lesson horse. I will be the one that loved your child and helped your child grow into the rider and person they are. I am a lesson horse. At the end of my time as a lesson horse; I will be covered in grey hair. Each grey hair came from each hour I spent as a lesson horse. I will be in a field of green grass, I will be taken care of as I was when I was a lesson horse. I will watch your child from across the pasture love her new horse. But, I will love your child more than any horse can. I will be the backbone of the business, the family, and your child. Don’t forget about me, I am a lesson horse.
