Training with my little guy, Newton. Newt was separated from his mother and littermates early so while heโs a sweet and sociable guy he has also maintained inappropriate play behaviours (he pounces, bites and kicks our hands/arms) ๐
Training helps him focus, shows him how to interact with me appropriately, and engages his brain ๐ฉต
On top of training we make sure to engage with him (using a myriad of toys and enrichment activities) to show him what healthy play looks like and give him an outlet for his biting and kicking ๐๐ผ

I designed our upside-down dog logo about three years ago. I loved it. It was cute, industry-appropriate and professional without looking too stuffy or serious. Most importantly, of course, was that it immortalised my beloved dog, Rook in his favourite sleeping position ๐พ
Rook is 9 years old now and still the heart and soul of our home. He continues to inspire me, challenge me and push me to do better; not just for him, but for every pup I work with ๐ฉต
Separation anxiety, and other separation-related disorders, can be incredibly complicated ๐
When our dogs are struggling with anxiety we will of course want to help them feel better in any way we can. Many owners will do this by offering food (or another tasty treat, such as a Kong filled with peanut butter) just before they leave home ๐ฆด
Unfortunately, for pups who are already suffering from separation anxiety, this may backfire and instead create a negative association with the food ๐๐ผ
