We would like to thank everyone for their help with our efforts to save Sebastian. Sadly we had to make the tough decision to end his suffering last night. We did get him in for his procedure but the outcome was not what we hoped it would be. We had many ups and downs along the way. Fly high sweet boy. 🪽

We’ve faced challenges getting Sebastian seen for an issue in his re**al area (visible on x-ray) due to the limited veterinary specialty options in our area. Our foster is having to drive him to Raleigh today for care. We’re anticipating a very large bill, likely in the thousands, and potentially surgery. As a nonprofit, we rely on donations, and we need all the support we can get. You can donate directly to the clinic OR through the methods listed below:

Our very sweet beautiful Gracie found her forever home in Raleigh today. She came to us in terrible shape. Flea dermatitis so bad it’s a wonder she wasn’t anemic as well. We’ve worked with her since September to heal her. Her new family will take very good care of her and make sure she has the love and care she deserves. Intake pictures are included so her progress can be seen. I’ll miss you sweetie.

Lou, thank you again. The kitties are going to enjoy this safe escape. 😻

Reflecting on the year; we’ve surrounded ourselves with some amazing people. I’m so proud of all our volunteers. It takes more than any one person to make all the good happen. We have amazing people who come to clean, transport, socialize, nurse, fund raise, donate, write grants, transport, provide labor and materials and anything else we need. We can’t do it without you. Thank you for believing in our cause. 😻😻😻

Congratulations to our beautiful sweet Ally and her new family. She found her furever home today. You still have time to adopt your new best friend in 2024. We have some absolutely amazing kitties at the Surf City Petco.

I try to make sure adopters understand this. Especially when adopting kitties over 4 months or kittens that were born to feral moms.

Some take even longer to adjust. Have patience with your newly adopted buddy ❣️

What a great day for our rescue kitties. Madi found her forever home this afternoon. She is the sweetest kitty ever. She was a very young mom, but she did a great job. 👏

Congratulations to Josephina and her new furever family. We pulled her from Rocky Mount early last year as a pregnant mom. She raised her babies and has waited patiently for her turn for her own family. We’re so thrilled to see her get a great home. 😻😻

Sending a huge thank you to Lou and Merrill LeMoine and East Coast Storm Shutters for their generous donation and assistance with the rescue. Great people who love the kitties. 😻😻

**Update. Sebastian is starting to be stressed from his condition. We’re hoping we won’t need emergency care tonight and can make it until Monday when the surgeons are on duty. Please continue to donate so we can help this sweet boy. Current condition in comments. 😢

Sebastian is currently in foster care but urgently needs surgery to remove a blockage. We’ve been referred to an outside specialist for the procedure, which could cost thousands of dollars.

We truly need your support to make this possible. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. As a nonprofit, rescues like ours rely entirely on donations to continue our work. Whether you’re an individual or a business, your contribution is tax-deductible and directly helps animals in need.

This holiday season, we’re hoping to raise as much as possible before the year ends. The reality of rescue work is that it’s never about breaking even—most rescues operate at a loss. Adoption fees barely scratch the surface of what’s already been spent on the animals’ care.

Our founder, Cindi, never gives up on an animal, even when it means spending thousands to save a life.

It’s the generosity of supporters like you that keeps our doors open. Please consider making a donation to help us continue this lifesaving work. Your gift is 100% tax-deductible.

***Very sad update. They were returned today at no fault of their own. New adopter was pregnant and felt it was best if they found a new home. Their next home will be forever so be prepared. I will be picky. They are absolutely gorgeous girls and so loving.

Adopted together. ❤️❤️

I can’t express how happy I am to report Mitzi, our tossed away kitty, has been adopted and will be moving to NY. Our absolutely wonderful foster, Merril, nursed her back to health. She was touch and go for a while. And our other amazing volunteer/foster, Andrea, plucked her from the side of the road. This is what rescue is all about for me. I love everyone that has the same passion. 🥰😘
