It seems Santa is keeping a close eye on us this year... and who better to do the checking than his trusty scout reindeer, Dwight!

We’re all on our best behavior here at PVH, but let's just say... we may have bribed Dwight with plenty of beef liver treats to make sure he gives Santa a glowing report.

Fingers crossed that our efforts pay off when Santa’s sleigh lands this year!

Sable is back today for her cold laser therapy! She's also keeping an eye out for any spooky surprises.

Sable has noticed a little ghost hanging around—could it be a friendly Halloween visitor? Her big, expressive eyes and fluffy coat make her the cutest Halloween companion!

Sable is all set for some Halloween fun, she's hoping to get lots of beef liver treats from the IM cookie ladies!

Who else loves Halloween? We would love to see pictures of your furry friends in their costumes!

Duuuun dun... Duuuun dun... The JAWS theme is in full effect as Remy the Frenchie makes his splash in today's edition of the Halloween Fashion Show!

That's right, today he's dressed as the fiercest (and cutest) little shark you've ever seen, ready to take on the world, one tiny fin at a time!

Carly couldn't be happier to see this adorable French shark, and honestly, who could resist that combo of cuteness and menace? Watch out, world—Remy’s here to steal hearts (and maybe some treats)!

Exciting Day with K9 Officers! Our Integrative Medicine team at Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital had the incredible opportunity to attend a K9 officer training day! We were in awe as we watched these highly trained K9’s and their handlers demonstrate various skills, including bite sleeve training, searching for a decoy, evidence search, tracking, and recall after being released. Did you know that before a K9 can serve in the field, they must complete over 400 hours of training? This training ensures they are experts in everything from scent detection to protection work. They also need to recertify every two years to keep their skills sharp! We’re so grateful for the chance to witness these amazing dogs in action and to learn more about the hard work and dedication that goes into training them to protect and serve our community. Huge thanks to the K9 officers and their handlers for this eye-opening experience!

Special thanks to:

Meet Patricia!

Patricia has been a valued veterinary assistant at Pilchuck for 10 years. A native of Snohomish, she has a bachelor's degree in law and justice from Central Washington University and spent 20 years working as a probation/parole officer for the Department of Corrections before retiring from that field in 2013.

Patricia has two retired off the track thoroughbreds, Ole and Diesel. She also shares her home with two dogs, Chase and Indy! Outside of work you can find Patricia working in her greenhouse and vegetable garden, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoys traveling and hot yoga. Every year she takes a trip to Lexington, KY to work at both the Keeneland September Yearling Sales and the November Breeding Stock Sale. Patricia recently went on a bucket list vacation to Saratoga Racetrack.

We've been lucky to have Mako visit our Integrative Medicine department recently. Diagnosed with kidney failure, Mako's owner has been bringing him in for acupuncture and Chinese herbal therapy. While we don't see many cats in our IM department, those who do come by always surprise us with their calm demeanor during acupuncture treatments.

Just look at Mako in the photo—he curls up and goes to sleep like it's the most relaxing spa day ever! It’s heartwarming to see how these gentle therapies help our furry friends feel at ease and aid in their healing journey.

Wishing Mako continued comfort and wellness!

Hey everyone! Today we want to share Daisy and her favorite relaxation technique: Tui-na!

What is Tui-Na?

Tui-Na is a traditional Chinese therapeutic technique that focuses on promoting health and well-being through hands-on methods. It combines elements of massage, acupressure, and gentle manipulations to stimulate the body's natural healing processes. Originally developed for humans, it has been beautifully adapted for our four-legged friends!

Why Use Tui-Na in Veterinary Medicine?

1. Pain Relief: Tui-Na helps alleviate discomfort from arthritis, muscle strains, and other conditions.

2. Improved Mobility: By enhancing circulation and flexibility, it can help our pets move more freely.

3. Stress Reduction: Daisy always feels relaxed and happy after her sessions—Tui-Na promotes a sense of calm and well-being.

4. Enhanced Healing: It supports the body’s natural ability to heal and recover from injuries or surgeries.

Just look at Daisy in these pictures—her joyful face says it all! After her Tui-Na sessions, she’s not only more comfortable but also radiates pure happiness.

If you’re looking for a way to improve your pet’s quality of life, Tui-Na might just be the perfect addition to their wellness routine. Feel free to ask us any questions or share your own experiences with Tui-Na!

Feeling spoiled? You bet he is! Just look at Dwight, our adorable French Bulldog, living his best life!

In this video, Dwight is getting some top-notch electroacupuncture treatment in his very own acupuncture chair. But that’s not all—he’s also enjoying a jar of frozen baby food, and those happy snorting noises he’s making are simply priceless!

French Bulldogs are known for their adorable piggy noises, and Dwight’s snorts and squeaks are music to our ears. It’s like he’s saying, “I’m living the dream!” while getting pampered and enjoying his treat.

Here’s to more moments of pure joy and relaxation for our spoiled fur friends!

Meet Lyla, the queen of relaxation and recovery!

After being diagnosed with a partial CCL tear, Lyla’s owner chose a path of medical management instead of surgery. Since then, Lyla has been receiving top-notch care from Dr. Martinson, including acupuncture and Tui-na therapy.

Check out this adorable snapshot of Lyla, all cozied up in a pile of blankets with a pair of stylish sunglasses and acupuncture needles in place. Have you ever seen a dog look so relaxed and pampered? We sure haven’t!

Lyla is embracing her therapy sessions with such ease, and we’re thrilled to see her so comfortable and content. Here’s to more zen moments and happy healing for our sweet girl!
