The holidays are just around the corner. We are accepting reservations for November, December, January and beyond. Our team will care for your dog with all the love and attention we provide our own. We have some of the largest boarding kennels in the Pacific Northwest and offer one on one enrichment activities for your pup. We do reach capacity over the holidays so if you need us to care for your dog, please let us know so we can reserve your space.

Wanted to share some photos of our babies before the weekend. They’re not just playing with toys, we do this to desensitize them to different sights, sounds and textures so they go home confident and ready for their new life.

We know it’s not even Halloween yet, but we wanted to let everyone know our annual holiday party is scheduled. Santa has confirmed and we’re planning gifts for people and pups. We look forward to seeing you there! Please save the date and stay tuned for more details!

We wanted to share this with you. After many years of making us wonderful babies, Henrike is retired. She found a wonderful family who adores her and she’s happy as can be. We miss not seeing her every day, but knowing she’s loved makes up for it.

We would like to introduce our new male. Goethe vom Zellwaldrand has sired several import litters for us and when we had the opportunity to bring him to Von Waldberg, we jumped at the opportunity. Not only is he beautiful, sweet and smart…he’s the son of our girl Quaba. We’re excited to add him to our breeding roster. We hope he passes that beautiful dark face on to his pups. We do have an import litter that is 2 weeks old from Goethe and Panta (the daughter of our best female Lillly). At some point, all dogs end up wearing the cone (or if you prefer…a hat). There are ways you can train your dog to make any recovery easier. This is just one of the topics we cover in our First Aid/Dog Health course. This class is taught by an ER vet tech with 22+ years of experience. She’s seen it all and this course is designed to teach when you need to go to the ER, what can wait and how to monitor your dog’s overall health. And…we do talk about how to trim nails. This class is usually held once a month. September’s class is tomorrow, the 14th, from 3-6pm. We’re thrilled to share that Von Waldberg Kennels hosted our very first AKC Agility ACT 1 & ACT 2 competitions yesterday! 🎉 With dozens of talented competitors, we saw so many qualifications and titles awarded. 🏆

A huge congratulations to everyone who participated! We can't wait to welcome this amazing group back for more training and future achievements.

Happy 4th of July from the Von Waldberg Kennels team! We've had a blast playing and celebrating with all of the kennel dogs and the boarders celebrating with us!

As a reminder, be cautious with your animals with fireworks and party food. It is best to make sure your animals are secured in your house in a safe space. Additionally, make sure your animals have collars or identification tags on in the event they are to escape.

LOOK AT ALL THESE RIBBONS! Huge shout out to some of our agility clients who competed this past weekend! Brought home a lot of ribbons and earned much deserved titles! We cannot wait to have you come back this week to get more training in for the next competition!

Its been such a fun week for us announcing that we've won international awards and being nominated as the best facility in the PNW (by the way you can still vote daily through the 28th @ www.votethepnw.com)... so we figured we would share another fun activity coming to Von Waldberg!

Introducing Scent Work training at VWK!

Starting July 11th we will have Sandra Tung teach classes at our facility. We are lucky to have Sandra teach for us, as she has 13 years of experience as both a AKC scent work competitor and a AKC scent work expert judge.

Her classes will be taught as 1hr lesson for a 6 week session. These classes are open to all existing Von Waldberg Kennel clients and anyone who is not a client of ours. Scent work can be done with any dog whether large or small, young or old!

Agility has been loved by everyone at VWK for the past few months of offering it. So we have added more beginning level classes for new dogs to join!

The new sessions that are available are below (spots will fill up quickly)
-Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30pm starting on 6/25
-Tuesdays from 7:45-8:45pm starting on 6/25
-Wednesdays from 9:30am-10:30am starting on 6/26

Dogs should have some beginner obedience, knows name, recall, sit, etc.

VWK has the largest dedicated dog training indoor training facility in the PNW with 6,000sf of soft rubber matted flooring and new agility equipment! This facility isn't your converted dirt horse riding arena or small strip mall room!

Office dog Josie had a nice trip to Flower World as a reward for being our demo dog during the First Aid class. We will have to think of another fun reward for her participation this weekend. After years of trial and error to finding the best dog beds for all of our boarding dogs, we have finally found the winner, Kuranda dog beds! We spent the whole day building the beds and even used it as a training opportunity for some of the board and train dogs to be around clinking, clanking and power tools!

Von Waldberg trainers are equipped to work with all dogs, regardless or their age or breed. We can work with dogs that have little to no training experience and get them on a great path to move forward with, or we can level up your dog if it already has training in obedience.

Super excited to share that our owner Kate and General Manager Bryan have been in Las Vegas this week at the yearly Pet Boarding Conference. Von Waldberg is always committed to staying up to date with every new product, offerings, trends and health related issues in the dog kennel space.

Even more exciting, Bryan was selected to be one of the speakers at this years conference and he just finished his presentation to the hundreds of facility owners and managers from all across the country!

From birth, all of our puppies are handled daily by our staff. At different age milestones we introduce them to common sights, sounds and textures of a household. If you have ever wondered if there is a dog equivalent to a baby sucking their thumb…yes there is. This little girl was hungry when momma was out getting a drink of water. So she decided she would try nursing on her foot. Summer is coming! With the sun out, the flowers are blooming and the bees are buzzing. When you are out with your dog, keep an eye on them if they want to chase sky raisins (flies) or spicy sky raisins (bees and wasps). Many dogs will be fine if they chase, catch and eat bugs, but a sting can lead to allergic reactions (facial swelling, hives, itchy/red skin) or anaphylactic shock (you may see white gums and collapse). If you see signs of anaphylactic shock, go to your nearest emergency room ASAP. This is a true emergency requiring treatment.
