Danica and I are on our way home from a long weekend of learning. I’m exhausted and excited about some new things I learned and some tweaks to things I was already doing. In dog training you should never stop learning.

Incredible! My 7yr old has learned about how to train and work with her service dog and he has been the best dog behaved dog. All of Andrea's dogs are this way. She is so good with the handler and the dog and gives you real help!! Like normal everyday living type experience. She has been amazing and easy to schedule with as well. We highly recommend her!

I have a difficult dog who we adopted when she was close to five years old. We had seen many behavioralists and trainers who could not effectively work with her, and went to A Canine Experience as a last “hail Mary” attempt. They have been creative, practical, and clearly understand dogs. In a few weeks, they have helped to make the only dent in her behaviors we have ever really seen. I am hopeful for the first time in years that this dog can live a more fulfilling life. I also HUGELY appreciate a trainer/assessment that is realistic, and doesn’t promise miracles when working with a challenging dog.

Took my two to the Coupeville Art Fair. They both did well. Danica handled all the people pretty well. Brennen is a pro and these events now. 🐾🐕🥰

A canine experience has been such a relief! Great place for me to trust with my fur babies. I have a frenchie and a shih tzu and their operation here is smooth. Jessica has been an exceptional manager in handling all our needs. The boys have their indoor space and doggie door to outdoor space where they have the option of privacy or exposure to other dogs if they like but still separately. Just like at home. Anytime I need to pop the boys over for a day or plan a week long vacation she is always there for us to provide a safe loving environment where I don’t even blink a worry about my boys and enjoy my vacations. I have experienced other kennels and this is our home away from home🥰

NOTICE: Due to heat, time and location, the Pack Walk at Centennial Trail in Snohomish on July 9th will be canceled. This location provides no shade and is on pavement that will be hot.

In the meantime, here are a few tips to stay safe in the heat:

We all love soaking up some sun, but for our four-legged friends, the summer heat can sometimes be a bit too much. As the temperature rises, it's essential to think about how we can keep our dogs cool, comfortable, and most importantly, safe.

1️⃣ Early Morning & Late Evening Walks

Avoid walking your dog during the peak heat hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Early mornings and late evenings are your best bet for cooler temps.

2️⃣ Hydration, Hydration, Hydration

Make sure fresh water is always available. Carry a portable water dish on walks.

3️⃣ Make a Doggie Popsicle

Freeze some low-sodium broth or water along with dog-friendly fruits like blueberries or apple slices for a delicious and hydrating treat.

4️⃣ Indoor Playtime

Skip the outdoor fetch, and opt for some indoor fun. Puzzle toys can keep your pup mentally stimulated while staying cool.

5️⃣ Paw Check!

Hot pavement can burn those sensitive paw pads. Place your hand on the surface for 5 seconds; if it's TOO hot for you, it's TOO hot for them.

6️⃣ Kiddie Pool Party

Fill a shallow kiddie pool with water and let your dog splash around. It's a fun way to cool down and also provides great Instagram material! 📸

7️⃣ Regular Brushing

A well-groomed coat can help regulate body temperature, so make sure to brush your dog regularly to get rid of excess fur.

8️⃣ Vet-Approved Sunscreen

Yes, dogs can get sunburned, especially those with shorter coats. Consult your vet for a pet-safe sunscreen.

9️⃣ Never, Ever Leave Your Dog in a Car

Even with the windows down, temperatures can skyrocket in minutes. It's a no-no, plain and simple.

Poochella in Marysville was a hit, and we got pretty lucky with the weather.

The time flew by and the only picture I got was of Aloy, a Malamute rescue who came to us for training when 1st adopted.

Was so good to hear how well she's doing and thanks to remote collar training this girl gets to enjoy offleash exploring and playtime. She comes when called, stays within her boundaries and minds better than her doggy friends.

Best of all, because they put in the work from the start, they rarely even have to use a reminder.

Helping people train their dogs so they can live life to their fullest is what fills our hearts and keeps us motivated.

Andrea Kelley and Trina Eddy had the fun opportunity to present at the Great Dog Caper at Evergreen State Fair Grounds to Snohomish County Dog 4-H youth about Diabetic Alert Dogs.

We demonstrated how DAD's are trained, discussed how medical alert dogs can help people and presented a project idea for building a .

It's always a joy to work with the 4-H youth, as the program had a huge impact on our families lives.
