Happy, Healthy, Lucky 7 Danes here at the ranch for you to meet. We stand behind our Danes 100% for the life of the dog. We breed and raise our Danes to be family members. We feel it is most important to breed for the whole dog and not just color. (though we do love color!) Temperament should always come first when producing puppies! We breed to both the AKC and CKC breed standard for conformation. We DO NOT remove dew claws or crop ears as neither the AKC or CKC breed standard requires it. We offer lifetime placement here with us for every puppy we produce. Lifetime Breeder Support. We take the time and care to give each pup the very best start possible. We follow the Puppy Culture protocol for raising our babies. All of our babies are born and raised in the house as part of the family. Puppies are current on shots/worming, Vet health checked and micro-chipped before leaving us. We are lifelong dog people and have done much rescue work in both dogs and horses. Please look at our albums, the quality of our Danes speaks for itself !!! Lucky 7 Danes have been recognized for their excellent working ability !!! Please check out our page for "Pawsitive Steps AZ. SEARCH DOGS NORTHEAST
1985 to 1987
I trained as a SAR k9 handler with Ben as my partner and SAR dog. We did wilderness and water search. AKC Ben E. King was my home bred Doberman Pinscher. He lived to be 16 and 1/2 years old. Loved and remembered everyday <

VETERINARY ASSISTANT
2000 to 2001
Thank you Dr. Roach and Dr. Belsker for the education. PUREBRED REGISTRIES
Any Purebred Dog Registry is only as good as the morals and ethics of the breeders who use them. AKC registration in no way guarantees quality!!! Please screen your breeders carefully! AKC=American Kennel Club
I have been a member in good standing of the AKC for over 40 years.I registered my first purebred dog when I was 10 years old. We bred, raised, and were loved by AKC Doberman Pinschers for over 20 yrs. We have been loved by Great Danes for over 15 yrs. CKC =Continental Kennel Club
We have been a member of CKC for over 8 yrs now and prefer to register our Danes through them.Their breeder ethics are great., and much stricter then AKC. Opinions on health testing and color breeding in Danes

I health test. I use my Vet for X-ray s of hips /elbows, thyroid test through Iddexx. Eyes checked by my vet as babies and then again at 1 yr and at 2 -3 yrs old. I don't use Cerf anymore as it is only good for 1yr... I use my Vet 's professional opinion and EKG for heart testing. Again, now that they have proven late onset DCM...an electrocardiogram is only good for 2 yrs. So yes, I health test, but for my own knowledge, to make sure I am doing my best to breed very healthy babies. I think the CHIC # ect is great, but... Cerf every year and echocardiogram every 2 yrs x 10 Danes, and even great results are not a guarantee that pups will be free of genetic defects. To date we have generations of healthy Danes! I am a full disclosure breeder and will share the good and the bad!. We have had one puppy with an overbite. He is from an outcross breeding. Neither side has ever produced a bad bite...so I honestly do not know which side it came down from., of course he was placed in an excellent family home home and neutered when mature enough. I have one hypothyroid girl as well, Mystic was my pick of her litter and I had plans for her to be a Momma someday.. when we started her health testing she came up low thyroid.. so she is spayed and gets a pill each day. Mystic was and is the picture of health, she showed absolutely no outward signs of a thyroid issue, ( why testing is so important !)
I am also not a color pure breeder. On purpose!!! We breed for the whole dog, temperament, health /longevity, conformation /type, and then color. Every thing to date has been a carefully chosen outcross breeding. I truly believe a large healthy and diverse gene pool is the only way to breed healthy purebreds. Just for the record, Great Danes come in 50 or 55 colors and coat patterns.. so none of the colors are new or designer. Most people are not aware that Danes have such a diverse color history. The only color crossing that produces defective babies are spot to spot breedings. The reason only some coat colors and patterns are allowed in the Conformation ring is strictly what the club members decide is fashionable and acceptable .. and that's it.. no other reason as far as health ect.. just personal preference of the people in the club. When ever breeding any animals based on coat color and pattern, for a show marked" whatever " people breed recessives ect ect in the name of color, show marked, designer ect. There should at least be an " all other colors class" in the conformation ring. If a purebred Dane of excellent type and quality... with an outstanding temperament and great breed quality to pass on to potential offspring... happens to be what the show ring considers an " off " color...how can that genetic diversity be a negative for a purebred gene pool. Purebred = limited gene pool. I am not personally interested in conformation ring. I feel the narrow mindedness with colors is a detriment to the breed.
