Made my own push beveler out of an old smooth one I had. Ground grooves on the shaft, filled the hole up with J B weld. Works great. I finished the handle with Minwax stain and thought I'd try it on some veg tan. It's oil based and penetrated really good. Put some home made ( bees wax & coconut oil) wax on part of it.
Has anyone else tried this stain?

I know it's not a Tandy leather project but I used leather from them. Cheap plastic bindings just don't make. Traditiona...

Cheap plastic bindings just don't make. Traditional leather does the job.

This one was an Al Stohlman design with buffalo hide and rough edge.
