As we have seen an increase in tick diseases, this is your friendly reminder to be sure your pet is receiving the appropriate preventatives, along with being screened yearly.

This little ham is “Chorizo” a 5 year old chihuahua.
His owner noticed foul breath, and took all the appropriate steps to ensure the best for him, including a dental cleaning under anesthesia today.
Take note of the before and after pictures.
We extracted 13 teeth, and cleaned up the remaining. 🦷

Here is a great reminder why to keep your pets on monthly preventatives, even through the winter!

Saturday Safety: we hate to be the bearer of bad news, but with the warmer weather last week, they are out. Ranger Rebecca found a tick on herself this past Monday. Always check pets and yourself over after being in brushy areas. CDC image

Today we vaccinated 8 fantastic puppies, owned by a very responsible breeder.
Remember puppy shots are extremely important, and must receive a booster every 3-4 weeks until they are 16 weeks old. 🐾

Here’s Andy!

Andy is a 13 year old Golden rescued by a senior couple. Andy is terrified of car rides, and his owners weren’t sure how they could get him proper veterinary care without stressing Andy, or themselves.
That’s where we came in!

The visit was a breeze for everyone. And he was a joy to meet!

Tonight we helped this 10 year old English Mastiff named Grizzly, pass in his own yard.
This is where he was most comfortable, and his owner didn’t want him to spend his last moments anywhere else.
What a gorgeous view he had.

Sending our condolences to Grizzly’s family. He was one lucky dog 💙

Day one, first stop this morning was Glenville where we vaccinated a litter owned by some special friends and then on to this beautiful horse farm for blood work on some adult dogs.

Neighborhood Pets accepts monetary as well as in kind donations. Items may be dropped off at the Slavic Village location (3711 E 65th St, Cleveland, OH) on Tuesdays & Thursdays (12-4pm), and Saturdays (10am-2pm).
