🚨 Parvovirus Alert! 🚨
We’ve seen a rise in Parvo cases spreading throughout the county — and it’s happening because too many pets are unvaccinated.
🐾 What is Parvo?
Canine Parvovirus is a highly contagious and often deadly virus that attacks a dog’s intestinal tract. It spreads easily through contaminated surfaces, soil, and even on shoes or paws — and it can survive for months in the environment.
🐶 Who is at risk?
Unvaccinated dogs, especially puppies, are the most vulnerable. Even one short walk or visit to a public area can expose them to the virus.
💉 Prevention is simple — and affordable!
Keeping your dog’s vaccines up to date is the best (and only) protection against Parvo. It’s far cheaper to prevent than to treat.
Parvo treatment often requires several days of hospitalization and can cost thousands — while a vaccine costs just a fraction of that.
🐕 Thinking about getting a puppy? Be careful!
When adopting or purchasing from a breeder, make sure to:
✔️ See proof of vaccinations and deworming records
✔️ Visit the facility to ensure it’s clean and well-maintained
✔️ Meet the puppy’s parents when possible
✔️ Avoid breeders who want to meet in parking lots or refuse to show paperwork
✔️ Remember: healthy puppies come from responsible breeders or rescues who care about proper vetting and early socialization
