Masterson Veterinary Clinic had its start in 1950 by the late Dr. Ralph Masterson. Dr. Masterson provided small animal and farm animal care to the people of Perry County and the surrounding area. After graduating from Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987, his daughter, Dr. Rhonda Masterson joined him in the practice. Dr. Rhonda Masterson became a solo practitioner after the

passing of her father and mentor in 1989. The practice began to grow and Dr. Rhonda Masterson welcomed her first associate at that time to help her continue to provide farm and small animal care in our county and surrounding areas. After all, our pets are part of our families and deserve the best possible healthcare we can give them. At Masterson Veterinary Clinic we are dedicated to providing the best possible care for your pet, while keeping it affordable. Our practice takes pride in the fact that we are very family oriented. Our staff looks forward to getting to know you and your pet(s). We believe in providing quality, personal care to our clients and their furry family members. Mastersons' Veterinary Clinics is pleased to announce, that Dr. Jodi Lynn Smith of Lancaster, Ohio, has joined our practice as a full-time associate. Dr. Smith is a Buckeye born and raised and has a work history full of diversity and adventure. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1995 and has worked in practices from Montana to Virginia to Hawaii on her veterinary journey. Although she started her career as a mixed animal practitioner, since 2006, her passion has been for small animal, companion animal medicine and soft tissue surgery, as well as exotics/wildlife medicine and surgery.

Dr. Smith has a son and a daughter that are long out of the nest. She currently resides in her hometown of Lancaster, Ohio and is raising her granddaughter, Paislee, full time. She also shares her home with 2 dogs (Doobi and Chaos), and 4 incredibly beloved cats (Kylo Ren, Jypsy Jo, Chico Loco and Silas). For fun, she loves being outside, gardening, hiking, traveling to tropical hideaways, attempting DIY projects, poker, CUBS baseball, Ohio State Football, attending Tree Church regularly, and spending time with her family and two young grandchildren.

In addition to dogs and cats, Dr. Smith is excited to offer EXOTICS appointments for clients in the area in need of preventive, medical, or surgical care for their unique pets!! The types of pets that Dr. Smith sees in private practice include, birds of all types (including chickens), reptiles and amphibians (turtle/tortoises, lizards, some aquatic species), pocket pets (rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, sugar gliders), ferrets, rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, and any ODAG certified wildlife educational pet or privately kept pet, such as raccoons, prairie dogs, falcons, skunk, fox, and bobcats. Appointments for ODAG certified wildlife MUST be pre-scheduled and approved on a day that Dr. Smith can see them, as they oftentimes require special veterinary protocols and sedation for their appointments.

Dr. Smith will be seeing clients regularly at our New Lexington and Somerset offices and looks forward to meeting new furry friends! Dr. Smith is eager to help clients in Perry and surrounding counties, obtain knowledgeable and trustworthy medical advice for their treasured pets! We are excited to have Dr. Smith become a part our team!
