The good news: Phantom is scheduled for a full mouth extraction on February 10 to address her stomatitis and finally live without discomfort.

Feeling the urge to cozy up and binge-watch your favorite shows during this cold front? Trish is right there with you! 🐾❄️

This sweet senior girl was placed on hospice care, but Trish clearly had other plans. 💪 he’s been surprising everyone by gaining weight, showing off her feisty spirit, and charming her foster family with her incredible zest for life. In fact, her hospice stay went on so long that she graduated to a more permanent foster home!

Now, Trish is thriving in her new space. She has full reign of the house and wasted no time claiming her rightful spot in her foster family’s bed—queen behavior, of course. 👑

Trish is looking for someone special to give her the ultimate retirement home. If you’re ready to open your heart and your home to this senior sweetie, she promises to fill your days with snuggles and your heart with warmth for all the days to come.

Welcome Jessie and Lira!

Say hello to Jessie, a playful 6-month-old black kitten, and Lira, a young tuxedo cat who we believe are mother and daughter. 🐾

Jessie is a little attention-seeker who’s completely obsessed with her foster’s company. If her foster leaves the room, Jessie meows to call them back—she loves being the center of attention! 😻

Lira is timid but full of potential. She’s beginning to accept pets and feels safest in her cozy hiding spots. Her foster has even spotted her making biscuits on a blanket and settling in for a peaceful nap at a safe distance. We think that with time, sShe’s going to be someone’s angel. 💕

Meet Winona and Ryder, a pair of 9 ninth old bonded siblings.

Winona (blue tabby) has the cutest little meow and she LOVES catnip. She would be attached to you at the hip if she could. As a bonus, according to her foster, she has the softest fur ever, like a chinchilla.

Ryder (brown tabby) loves belly rubs, and is very curious and gentle, and will ask for your attention with his bright yellow eyes.

Did you know they make inhalers for cats?

We’re working hard to get Ramona’s persistent mucus under control so she can find her forever home! Right now, we’re using a steroid inhaler to help with her sneezing. 😻

Ramona’s been a total champ. She’s understandably wiggly when something is held over her face (who wouldn’t be?), but with lots of treats and positive reinforcement, we’re making progress-- her sneezing has already started to decrease noticeably!

Fingers crossed this treatment helps her breathe easier and brings her one step closer to her forever family! 💕

This week’s spotlight is on Rosemary, who found her forever home at the end of last year! She started off shy and cautious (as you can see in the last photo, taken when she first arrived at Black Cat Rescue), but just look at her now in the two photos from her new family! 🖤 Rosemary has settled in beautifully, soaking up the love from her family and becoming besties with their other cat.

We are always looking for fosters—especially for kitties who occasionally bite or get a little mischievous! These spirited cats need extra love and patience, and that’s where you come in!

Our experienced staff will walk you through every step to make sure you have all the support you need as a foster volunteer. Challenging cases like these are often the most rewarding, and you could be the one to turn a nippy kitty into a success story.

Layla update!

After two blood transfusions, Layla’s red blood cell count went up and is currently holding steady!

She has been discharged from the hospital and both she and we are very glad she’s home!

We’re waiting on her test results to see what next steps to take. Thank you everyone for your support and donations! Please keep on sending Layla positive vibes!

Meet Moonlight and Starlight, seen hear bathing in sunlight!

This pair of floofs are five year old bonded siblings. Moonlight, the boy, is extremely friendly and affectionate. He will greet you at the door, sleep on the bed with you and curl up next to you on the couch.

Starlight, the girl, likes to play hard to get before you earn her trust. She prefers to get pets more sporadically, but loves to play with her brother!

We’re so excited to launch our new weekly series, where we’ll share updates from our adopted cats. 🖤

To kick things off, we wanted to share Basil's story with you, who found his forever home this November. This little quirky and sweet guy not only won over his adopters, but also his new cat siblings! And he has even bonded with Oliver, the family’s grumpy, 15-year-old tuxedo cat that no other cat dares to approach. They have now earned the nickname “the twins” because of their matching tuxedo coats!

🖤 Midnight Update 🖤

Midnight is still looking for a long term foster or adopter, and we’re thrilled to share recent updates from her current foster!

While her incontinence can still be a challenge, she’s doing an amazing job letting her fosters know when she needs a diaper change — it’s a huge step in making her care more manageable! 🌟

Midnight is super smart and greets her fosters every morning, when we they come back home, or even just when they move between rooms. Her excitement to see her people never gets old! 🐾💕

If you’re looking for a loving companion who is both resilient and affectionate, Midnight is ready to continue her journey with the right foster or adopter. Her personality and growing skills make her care so much easier!

Parsley, Basil and Dill came to us skinny and covered in fleas. They’re too young for flea treatment so we’re making do with bathing and combing. They’re great eaters and growing by the day! On Monday, they will have their first visit with a veterinarian. If you donate $20, we can buy them a case of food! If you donate $40, we can get them tested for FIV and FeLV! If you donate $100, we can spay and neuter them!
