Amelia is a Grand Prix rider and trainer and works to develop a trusting and confident relationship between horse and rider. Using theories from both natural horsemanship and classical dressage, Amelia creates a holistic approach to training that adapts to fit the needs of each individual horse and rider. Her approach incorporates all pieces of horsemanship from basic groundwork and ground manners to advanced dressage movements. The emphasis is always on the foundation with the basic trust, understanding, and relaxation for both horse and rider as the building blocks to harmony and progress. Amelia specializes in starting young dressage horses. After starting over 100 horses, Amelia has developed a step by step method that gently and methodically introduces the young horse to accept and carry a rider. She believes that the first couple months under saddle are the MOST important in any horses' long career. It is essential that the initial training is done correctly and carefully to ensure that each horse develops confidence in themselves and trust in the rider.
