He came to us in bad shape, but we got him the medical care he needed and helped him heal. He's been patiently waiting for his forever home. It’s hard to believe this gorgeous guy has been with us for 438 DAYS! And while he is taken care of, and loved by our staff and volunteers this boy deserves a home of his own.
Scooby is a super sweet and smiley pup who can't wait to meet you!
He is polite, friendly, and eager to please and warms up immediately to new humans. He always greets our volunteers with tail wags and kisses and is always ready to receive ALL the scratches & pats.
Scooby was rescued from a public shelter's euthanasia list and came to Family Dog Rescue for the chance at a better life. He would love an active and caring household that will give him the time and attention he needs.
Scooby did GREAT in foster and his housemates tell us..."Scooby is the most perfect dog you could ask for. He loves every person he meets. Just by looking at him, you'd expect him to be loud and high-energy, like a typical husky, but he is a quiet, gentle teddy bear.
He looks bigger than he is because of his fluffiness! He loves to play with toys and go on walks, but equally enjoys taking a nap on the floor, against a wall or door while you cook or watch tv.
He is always ready to jump in the back seat for a car ride, short or long. It's fun to see him perk up when he sees squirrels on trees. We often encouraged him to cuddle with us on the couch, and he loves it almost as much as we do. He might even fall asleep on your feet while you're sitting down.
He is a big boy but has the teeniest, cutest ears you've ever seen. He is the easiest dog, we are shocked that nobody has adopted him. He is potty trained with the exception of one accident on his first day with us. We love Scooby, and we wish we could have him forever."

Momma Princess was rescued by Family Dog in partnership with the Solano County Sheriff's Department who notified us of a severe neglect case. Momma Princess was pregnant and currently mid-birth when the sherriff's department was made aware of the neglect and abuse of her owner. Momma Princess had given birth to one puppy, had one puppy currently lodged in her birth canal known as dystocia, which led to her having an emergency surgery, and one puppy still inside her, for a total of 3 puppies.
Momma Princess had one puppy removed as a result of the emergency surgery and the third puppy was deceased in her birth canal and had to be removed. Unfortunately, none of her puppies survived the traumatic birth or surgery.
Momma Princess has been in foster care post surgery and healing wonderfully from her rough beginnings when we initially learned of her. We are fundraising $1,600 for her emergency dystocia surgery today. We appreciate your support of Family Dog in our continued efforts to partner with state-wide agencies to handle the hard medical cases that aren't glamorous to give these dogs the second chance at a loving life they deserve. ❤️🐾🌟 DOOBIE NEEDS YOUR HELP!🌟🐾❤️ Doobie was networked to us by a good Samaritan. He has an injured cranial cruciate ligament (CCL, similar to the ACL in humans) which causes a pronounced limp. Doobie will often lose the stability of his back legs, resulting in him falling often. Despite his medical challenge, he is a friendly, happy & chatty boy who loves nothing more than being close and receiving ALL the pats. Doobie looks to be an Australian Shepherd mix. We think is about 3 years old and weighs around 45 lbs.Doobie will need TPLO surgery to repair his injury and allow him to enjoy a full life, pain free and full of play. This will cost in excess of $5,000 and require after care check-ups and a very special recovery foster home for 8 weeks.
