This year our shirt is featuring our DITR pup in a winter theme. The front pocket image quotes one of our favorite scriptures, John 15:13, about friendship, love, and sacrifice. Dogs are such loyal, selfless companions, and many times they would give up their own life for their owner. ❤️ The image on the back will be larger, with the saying " Keep warm....Snuggle with a Friend!"

Thank you doesn't even begin to express my feelings this morning. Thank you for being such a blessing to DITR and the little lives that we try to help...... God is good....... ❤️❤️❤️

Our little rescue is struggling. We have several dogs we are trying to help, but we need our tribe! Our finances are low. Both of our end of the year fundraisers were canceled, and we are still filling the effects Hurricane Helene. We cannot continue our rescue efforts without help! Days are so tough. Saying "I am sorry, but we have no room" is unbelievably heartbreaking. Knowing we can't "rescue" ourselves out of the animal welfare mess kills us...... but then we get updates like this. Mia came from south GA, Toombs Co. to be exact. She lived outside in a tiny pen without a lot of human interaction. We were able to save her with the help of Sophie's Circle Dog Rescue! Now look at the life she is living!!!!
Pictures and stories like this are why we keep going..... even after we have to say no, knowing we can't save them all...... Making a difference to one..... One at a time.....❤️ Happy forever after sweet Mia!!!

Emotional post warning!!

When you do this day in and day out, and you’re getting all these terrible stories and all these sad neglected dogs coming in who are just dumped and unwanted , you have to find your joy where you can.

Today’s joy was found when this picture was sent to me, showing how well loved Mia is.

Mia came into the rescue after living a hard life of neglect . She was heartworm positive and had not known love. We adopted her into what we thought would be a wonderful home, but they decided they didn’t want her after all and dumped her back to us. We were heartbroken for Mia because she had done nothing wrong. In the process of trying to figure out where to go with her, we stumbled on a new Foster Mom who turned out to be absolutely amazing. That was the first good thing to come from this. The second good thing to come from it were the people who decided that they couldn’t live without Mia in their lives.

Today’s shout out goes to the people who do the hard work to make sure that the new dog fits. if you think it’s hard for you think of how hard it is for the poor dog who is confused and uncertain as to what is going to happen and then through no fault of their own find themselves unceremoniously dumped. Time and effort reap rewards that are so great for everyone involved, most importantly for the dog.

A secondary shout out to Fosters, all of you, every Foster out there for us, for every rescue . You have absolutely no idea how much better you make the world and how valuable you are as a human being and how appreciated you are by every rescue who knows the desperation of trying to figure out where to go with an unloved dog. If we don’t say it loud enough, please know we love you❤️

Mia, you sweet, precious little girl, you are living the life that we dream of for every dog. Your happiness and safe place are all the reward we need. May you live a long, happy, healthy, and well loved life.

Georgia’s private citizens donate an average of half a million dollars a year to the Dog & Cat Sterilization Program. Georgia needs to double that to reduce shelter populations. State appropriations are needed for spay/neuter. This will continue to get worse without action. Doing nothing is no longer an option.
