Our hearts are sending love and healing as so many lives have been impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Please read for an update on our council and resources as we come together to support our Girl Scout sisters and their communities. More information and ways to support is coming soon. 💚

Dear GSCP2P Family:

Our hearts are hurting for our central and western NC communities. While most of our council’s 40 counties were impacted in some way last week by Hurricane Helene, 25 of our counties (housing over 4,000 of our girl members) have experienced devastation beyond comprehension.

Since the hurricane, we have received numerous phone calls, e-mails and social media messages asking how our staff are doing, how camps are doing and how you can help. Please read our full message from the CEO in Today's Tips, our weekly e-mail newsletter that is also available on our blog at https://blog.girlscoutsp2p.org/2024/09/30/todays-tips-9-30-24/.

Circle C Friends! Do any of you folks of a certain age have any old riding helmets hanging out in the attic or tack room that you would be willing to sacrifice for educational purposes? We are specifically looking for helmets from the 80's and 90's. We are especially interested in finding the first generation of ASTM certified helmets, the shell helmet with the elastic and chin cup, or the one that had a detachable harness that used to fall down around your neck mid ride. They will live forever, cut in half, as part of a STEM activity at the barn. If you have one you'd be willing to part with, let us know!

This accelerated low-capacity program is for Girl Scout adults! This session will be an un-mounted program and is a prerequisite for Horseback Archery 3. Take what you've learned from Horseback Archery 1 and expand on it, focusing on including the horse. Participants will be mounted on a variety of horse alternatives designed to give the rider the feel of what it will be like to shoot from the horse's back and learn how to handle the bow and arrows while mounted. Register at bit.ly/3AZqJYR.

We have officially tallied up the hours for this past RIIT season and ended with an ASTOUNDING 1,919 hours of service!!!
We say if often but we LITERALLY could not do this job without our fabulous and dedicated Riding Instructors In Training (and of course the people who drive them back and forth to the barn😉).
Thank you times infinity from the horses, cats and us!
