Each year we send over 800 hives all the way to California for almond pollination. Almond pollination happens only 1 time a year and in order for an almond to grow, they must have bees. It takes approximately two hives’ worth of bees to pollinate every acre of almonds trees, meaning California’s almond crop requires a total of around 80 billion bees, equal to 1.7 million hives altogether. This year we sent out 2 semi loads of bees to fit all 800 hives. And in 5 weeks time, the bees will be sent back to us ready to start producing your favorite honey! 🐝🍯
