NJ Miracles (Storm Drain) Litter- ☔️☀️💙🐾
Wow, this rescue mission was truly a labor of love! I was determined to bring these precious kittens into our care, and it's been a journey so far. They were brought inside almost a week ago from the original finder, and since the 5 were taken off the side of the street due to the danger it posed, (I now know a mama was around) I stressed the importance of getting their mama fixed as soon as possible and the entire process mama is going through along with the milk she's producing for these babies. STOP only helping the babies, please!
A few days later, the husband heard loud crying while walking by where they took the kittens from, and to his surprise, ANOTHER kitten was stuck in the storm drain in the street, frantically yelling for help! Luckily, they were able to get the kitten out safely and reunited with his 5 siblings!
🐾⭐️ We had a little language barrier, but we made it through! I LOVE that people care enough to help, but it's so important to know what you're dealing with. These babies were being fed milk every 4 hrs, not much wet & no kitten food at all. I can clearly see they have started to decline. I put food in with them, and they ate as if they were starving - essentially, the 3 are starving. We have the biggest coming in at 1.4 lbs and the smallest coming in at 7.6 ounces!!!!!! OUNCES, can you believe it? This is a HUGE red flag for this sweet baby. The first few photos posted are from the days they were found. The 3 have since lost all of their weight and become a bag of bones! They were covered in each other's urine & f***s and smelled awful. On exam, 3 of them were clearly getting all of the food at feed time, well, that left the other 3 with very little to survive on. Half of them had the good old leaky butt, which is a known killer in kittens of this age/size. Parasites!!! Flea anemia was kicking in, and the clock was ticking. We did our deworming right in the car in the parking lot, wiped them down & started home. These babies will need mama & baby kitten food, wet/dry. Wheat-based litter and a foster home once cleared.
📌Any financial help is so appreciated. If you'd like to help us in our effort to help these sweet purr-babies, please find our wishlist at kittymamas.org/donate or Venmo -mamas //Pay Pal . Thank you so much for all the ongoing love and support! Stay tuned here for updates on the NJ Miracles💙🧡. They need your prayers. 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 We drove an hour to meet each other. Other than my word, they had no idea who I was or if I was an actual person in rescue. I gave them some pointers on what to look for and STOP giving kittens to random people they do not know!!
