This morning we helped a new pet with what could have potentially been a crisis, but thanks to swift action by the pet owner and our team, it was averted.

The owner found a spilled bottle of Advil near his 15-week-old puppy and wasn’t sure if any were ingested. Rightfully so, the owner was very worried and took action quickly. He called the Pet Poison Helpline who guided him, and then called us. We got him in quickly to check his vitals, bloodwork, and other diagnostics. It turned out that the puppy did not ingest any medication, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. Now, the owner can take a deep breath and know he did the right thing to care for his new companion.

If you ever suspect your pet may have ingested something toxic, we recommend first calling the Pet Poison Helpline at 800-213-6680. It’s important for all pet owners, especially those who are new to pet care, to remember that quick action is key!

We are currently undergoing renovations on our lower level. This is expected to conclude sometime around the end of January or early February. If your pet has an appointment during this timeframe and is noise-sensitive, we invite you to call us from the parking lot so we can bring you right into an exam room when we're ready to avoid the waiting room and decrease your pet's time around the noise. We will be updating our social channels accordingly as new information arises. If you have any questions, please call our office.
