Hi, all. Happy almost Halloween!
I'm almost booked up completely for November so if you're wanting to get your dog in before the holiday season, reach out soon so we can reserve your spot. I have moved my Saturdays to just 1 a month so they're booking up faster than usual.

I'm still here, working away! I know I don't post often. I'm just bad at social media. But if the shop was closed or was going to close, you'd definitely hear about it. So please don't take my terrible social media skills as a sign of anything. Haha
Thank you!

Hey, all! So I was contemplating the idea of moving my shop to a different location, but it just didn't work out. I've had a hard time finding anything in my price range or appropriate for dog grooming. I'm a bit sad about it, but it's alright! I'm still grooming in our home, and that's working well. Nothing has changed! But I do thank you all for your input. I'll definitely keep it in mind if I ever am able to find a place that works for us

Afternoon everyone! Please indulge me in a little market research. Do you mind telling me what city you live in?

I may be making some changes with the business and location is a factor. I appreciate your help! Thank you!

Due to a large increase in appointment cancellations, I've decided to change my cancellation policy. It feels like people make appointments and just think it's fine if they don't show up or change it the day of. It's pretty frustrating to tell clients they have to wait a month to get in, but then have all my appointments cancel for the week. Literally, last week I had 3 full days of appointments cancel or reschedule. My family does rely on this business. I can't afford to just have people not show up. Either take your appointment seriously or don't make one. It's very simple. So here's the new policy. I will be enforcing it strictly. I will also be attaching it to all messages confirming appointments and notifying anyone on the phone that schedules an appointment. Thank you for understanding

Granite State Grooming cancellation policy: We are a small business that operates by appointment. When you schedule a grooming appointment with us, the time slot is held specifically for your dog. If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please do so with 48 hour notice. Please allow more than 48 hour notice if you have been holding a spot for more than one dog. Clients who do not give 48 hour notice or no-show to an appointment will be charged $25 for first offense and 50% or more for multiple offenses. Clients with excessive late cancellations and/or appointment no-shows will be required to prepay future appointments or be referred out. All fees will be applied to the following appointment if one is scheduled for the future.

I'll just be honest here. I have no idea what to post about. Haha but the shop is doing well! Here's a few pups we've had in recently. The spring season is coming to a close soon so feel free to reach out to get your pets scheduled for a nice clean up as the weather starts to warm up. We've got room on the books a few weeks from now.

Good afternoon!
So you may have seen that there's supposed to be a big storm this week. I'm planning to stay open, but it really depends on how the weather is. I'll take it a day at a time. The main concern for me is the power. When the storm is bad enough, whether it's wind or snow or rain, we almost always lose power, and it's usually for most of the day. If the storm gets as intense as they project, big IF because it could be a nothing-burger too, I'll be reaching out to reschedule appointments. I would hate for anyone to drop their dog off and the power to go out half way through a bath or something like that. Moral of the story is I'll keep you posted for any changes in hours during the week, but at this moment, I'm planning to stay open, even if it's snowing a bit. If it's a major snow storm, that is when I'll be making some changes. Thank you all and stay safe and warm this week!

Good morning, folks!

So I've been seeing the stuff about a respiratory illness going around. I just wanted you all to be aware that I know about it and I'm doing what I can in the shop to keep your pets safe! I disinfect daily but will be disinfecting between pets. Also, I ask that if you have an appointment coming up but notice any coughing or fever or lethargy in your pet, please notify me before bringing them in. Let's all work together to keep our pets safe!

Thank you! And have a happy Thanksgiving 🦃

A little update for you all!

I'm so grateful for all of our clients! Thank you for trusting me with your pet. This fall, I've been seeing quite a few ticks so just remember to keep your pets treated and/or collared until the temps really start to drop.

Another thing to note is booking for the holidays. Booking is already almost full for November and booking into December. So if you want to get your pet in for a little clean up before the coming holidays, call, message, or text soon because the days might not be available shortly!

Lastly, here's some cute pics of Lacy just because she's so cute and her hair is soooo nice. 😁

Good afternoon from Max and I! Hope you are all having a nice day

Happy Friday, folks!

A little before and after on this big guy! You can't tell as much from the pictures, but under there he was completely matted. I had to shave him down and just start over. I always feel a little unhappy to do these just because my goal is to save the coat with double coated dogs, but sometimes you just have to start fresh. He'll be coming in for appointments every 6-8 weeks from now on so we can stay on top of his lovely coat this winter!

The shop is busy! I'm having such a good time meeting all the new clients. This is Ranger! He's not new, but he is a good boy. He always sits so nice for pictures. He's so big he makes my grooming table look small 😂

Hi, everyone!

I just wanted to mention that I am booking out quite a few weeks. Usually I'm book out 3-4 weeks right now. That could change once the weather starts to cool down again, but I'm sure for the summer I'll be booking out. If you're looking to get in sometime in the next few months, I definitely recommend calling a few weeks in advance to make sure you get the day you want.

Also, after any appointment we can book future appointments for up to a year (ex. an appointment every 8 weeks until July 2024). If that's something you want to do, feel free to ask. I try to remember to ask, but I forget a lot. Haha

Thank you all so much! Your support really means the world to me. 🖤

Evening!

We finally have power! We lost power around 7 am on Tuesday and got it back just a half an hour ago. Thankfully we have a generator so we've been warm. I hope you all have been able to stay warm also!

As long as we continue to have power, all currently scheduled appointments are good to go.

Good morning!
I have a couple of IMPORTANT housekeeping things to talk about real quick.

Firstly, a couple weeks ago, I had a few clients reach out to me and tell me that their dog's nails started to bleed at some point after going home from a grooming appointment. If this has happened to you, I want to apologize! I do my best to get dogs' nails short, but I would never intentionally quick them and send them home without letting you, the owner, know about it. I must just be going a touch too short so I've already been working on chilling out a bit with the shortness of nails. Also, I would never send a dog home with bleeding nails on purpose. If I quick a dog in the shop (which is incredibly common with any grooming shop), I always use quik-stop and be sure that the bleeding has stopped. If I saw signs of blood even while they were on the way out of the shop, I would stop you to apply more. That rarely happens, and generally, it's a tiny amount of blood. It stops after I apply the quik-stop, and it's no longer any issue. All of that to say, I hope your pets are happy and healthy when they get home! If something is amiss or you didn't like something or their nails are trimmed too short, I hope you would feel comfortable enough to tell me! Because I can address the issue and make changes if needed. I'm always open to constructive criticism.

The second thing I wanted to address was the route Google keeps sending people down to get to our house. Apparently, there's a dirt road that Google routes you down, and you definitely don't have to take any dirt roads to get here. I am not exactly sure which road people are talking about. The only one I am aware of (and I certainly don't know most of the side roads around us) is Cold River Road. Cold River is in pretty bad shape most of the time so if Google suggests that to you, I would not take it. Instead of Cold River, you can just take North Shore Road after going through Unity, and that will take you straight into Acworth.

I hope this helps! These are just a couple things that have been mentioned to me frequently so I wanted to address them here.
