Exciting news!

I (Naomi) will be teaching group classes at Pope Memorial Humane Society NH in Dover, NH.

I will be teaching the following classes:
Mondays, starting 7/8
-Puppy Kindergarten, a four week class
-Loose Leash Walking, a three week class
Thursdays, starting 7/11
-Beginner Manners, a four week class
-Trick Dog Class, a three week class
Saturdays
-Puppy Kindergarten, a four week class.

Loose Leash Walking/Come When Called grads rocked it in class! They all made great progress.

I don't know if you can see how amazing the doggie personalities in class were from the pictures. You will just have to trust me. It was an absolute joy watching these dogs interact and learn from their humans!

Empowered Equines is hosting a variety of events this summer.

I'll be teaching the dog training classes and hope you can attend.

We are SO excited to announce a summer schedule FULL of fun events we'll be having happen right here at our horse rescue, Empowered Equines in York, ME!!!

We have classes and events for horse lovers, dog lovers, self-care, and some just for kids! This list is what we have officially booked right now, but we have much more coming so keep an eye on our page to see what fun new things we'll be offering. All of these events are run by local artists, teachers, or animal welfare educators, AND it supports our non-profit rescue!! So you can have fun, learn new things, and support wonderful local causes! :)

If these events interest you go to the event page and make sure to mark "interested" or "going" some of these classes have a limited number of participants, so be sure to sign up ahead if you'd like to come :)

What an incredible class for dog owners!

This is sure to be a great collaboration. You get the best of both worlds. Liz, a groomer and owner of Spike dog grooming and boutique, and Mykala, a knowledgeable local dog trainer.

It looks like class size is small, so hurry up and get you and your dog signed up. Start making grooming a pleasant experience for both ends of the leash.

Finding the Fun in Bath Day
A 6 week course focusing on re-conceptualizing grooming to be a positive experience for dogs.

Grooming can be a very unnerving experience for some dogs, especially when they have had a rough start with it or no start at all! A bath can be the least of our worries when we have blow dryers, moving tables, nail trims and a whole new environment to face! Liz and Mykala will help guide dogs and their people through the process of grooming. Over six weeks we will work on exposing dogs slowly to the sounds and feelings of being groomed as well as training behaviors that help the dogs participate in their bath days. Using patience, encouragement and a whole lot of treats and play our goal is to take the intimidation out of the grooming salon for dogs!
This course is for dogs and their people. It is appropriate for dogs of all ages - young dogs who haven’t started grooming yet, dogs who are nervous or fearful for grooming, and dogs who are OK with grooming but would like some more confidence.
April 25th - May 30th, Thursdays at 6pm-7pm
$150
minimum class size of 3, maximum class of 5.
