Good Afternoon!

Spring is in the air! Now that the weather is starting to get warm again there are several things that are extremely important for the health of your 4 legged beloved pets. First and most importantly, do not forget to use your monthly heartworm/flea/tick/intestinal parasite prevention. There are so many different products on the market, but the one we mainly sell and recommend is Simparica Trio. Please call us when you need a refill because our prices are the same as Chewy, and 1-800 Pet Meds. In addition to the comparable price, you will also receive a mail in rebate ($15 dollars on 6 months and $45 dollars on 12 months).

Please also don't forget that Bordetella and Influenza vaccines are extremely important with the warmer weather. The reason being is that with warmer weather, we are outside more, and tend to have contact with other dogs at a much higher rate than in the winter. People also tend to board there pets more frequently because the summertime is big for family vacations.

Just another friendly reminder that we will be open tomorrow, Sunday 3/10/24 from 9-4PM. Dr. Sulner will be available and ready to see all your angels with whatever urgent care issues that may arrise. Happy Pets Veterinary Hospital will be having a delayed opening due to the snow storm that is occuring now. We will open at 10 AM today, Saturday 2/17/24. Happy Pets Veterinary Hospital has approximatelly a foot of snow and the landscapers are working to clear our lot. If there are any changes, we will notify you immediately. Please stay warm and be safe.

Hi everyone, just wanted to remind everyone that Happy Pets Veterinary Hospital will be open tomorrow from 9-4 for all urgent care needs. This is our first Sunday trial of being open. Right now, we are acting as a walk in urgent care; no appointment is needed. Please call prior to arriving to let us know why you are coming down so we can be prepared. Please be patient with us, this is our first Sunday, there may be quirks and longer wait times as we are mainly seeing sick appointments. Also understand that critical patients may take priority.

We are so excited, we look forward to being open every Sunday, and treating all your fur babies to avoid a trip to the actual ER. Thank you so much and please do not hesitate to contact us at 908-324-5783.

Good afternoon!

Starting January 14th 2024, Happy Pets Veterinary Hospital will be conducting a trial of being open on Sunday's for emergency's. We have had several requests from pet parents that have landed in one of the other emergency hospitals on a Sunday, that would have preferred to see their regular doctor. This will mean that for the next two Sundays (1/14 & 1/21) in a row, Dr. Sulner will be in the building from 9 AM until 4 PM as well as staff. The following three Sundays (1/28, 2/4 & 2/11), will be our associate doctor (Dr. Silit). Some of you may already know Dr. Silit from Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Hillsborough. We will be able to handle any and all emergencies that we would normally see during normal business hours. Examples are limping, vomiting, diarrhea, not eating, lethargy, ear infections, skin infections, seizures and anything that you may deem as an emergency. Please understand that this is a trial basis and we will aim to be open on every Sunday. However, certain circumstances may arrise and we may have to close. The cost of the emergency visit will be $165. The rest of our fee schedule will remain unchanged. We may be able to squeeze in annual wellness exams, however, the fee for the visit will be $165. Please understand that Happy Pets Vet Hospital will also be acting as an urgent care on Sundays, and wait times may be a bit longer due to the fact that they will not be scheduled appointments. Everything will be treated as walk in appointments, and triaged as necessary. We ask that you call ahead to advise us why your pet needs to be seen so that we can be ready. This week is National Pet ID Week! Make sure your pet has the proper identification if they get lost!

Does the dangling tag bother your pet? Consider microchipping! The procedure only takes about 15-20 minutes with your doctor. Once microchipped: fill out your online profile for the manufacturer and have the reassurance that your pet is one phone call away if they get lost.

LOST DOG!

Approximately at 4 pm, a client found him on Main Street across the street from Happy Pets Vet Hospital. He is a middle aged, intact male dog who is extremely friendly and well groomed. He is not wearing a collar and is not microchipped. He is currently being housed at our hospital. If this is your dog, please contact the South Bound Brook Police Department first. Thank you!!!!

HELP!!!!! I am a very sweet and handsome 3.5 year old Frenchie and have suffered a back injury. As a result, I am completely paralyzed in the back legs. Due to financial constraints, I was relinquished to Happy Pets Veterinary Hospital. I need a home who will take me to a neurologist for an MRI and possible surgery. Time is of the essence as I already have less than a 50% chance of ever walking again. Even if I cannot walk again, I will lead a very happy life with a cart for my rear legs. Happy Pets Veterinary Hospital will be closed today as a result of the storm we had last night. The roads in South Bound Brook are not drivable due to the flooding. In the event of an emergency, Animerge in Raritan and Red Bank in Hillsborough are open 24 hours. We will reopen tomorrow normal business hours. Thank you and be safe.

Hi everyone. I normally don’t post this much but my amazing practice manager Jay shared an anonymous post with me that I would like to share with all of you.

What most people don’t know is that Veterinarians have the highest rate of su***de amongst all medical professionals (higher than human doctors and dentists). This is from multiple things; compassion fatigue, working long hours, no time with family, huge debt and not nice people. Our professional is also suffering from a huge shortage of Veterinarians and Veterinary support staff.

This post is not meant to be rude at all but everyone in the Veterinary profession are doing there best to treat all the pets we possibly can. I could not explain it better than this post. Thank you all! Myself and my amazing team will continue to do what we love; treat your pets.

Hi everyone! I want you to meet a very special dog in my life. His name is Norbit and he is my cousin's dog. As you can see in the pictured attached why he is so special. He is the best babysitter in the world and loves baby Noah. Norbit is a 100 pound gentle giant with a heart of gold. This proves why animals are so special and not only is he man's best friend; but baby's best friend as well. Animals are so genuine and I am truly blessed to be in this profession. I LOVE YOU NORBIT !!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! I have great news! Tesla was found and is currently being hospitalized at Happy Pets but she is very stabile and expected to make a full recovery.
Unfortunately we just found another stray dog roaming across the street from Happy Pets. She is a female blue/brindle pitbull. We were successful in catching her and we currently have her in our care. If anybody is missing this dog and who knows who she is, please call us immediately (908-324-5783). St. Huberts has been contacted as well and she will eventually be transferred to St. Huberts. Thank you everyone for your help. Please see attached photo of this adorable pitbull.

Good evening everyone. Happy Pets Veterinary Hospital is asking the community for your help. One of our clients dog escaped this afternoon and was last seen near Franklin Township (CROSSED OVER INTO THE CANAL). Tesla is a 3 year old female Pitbull who is extremely friendly but fast. Please see the attached photos. If anyone sees her, please immediately call the local police department and animal control. Do not try to catch her by yourself as she is scared and possibly over-heated. Tesla is very much loved and your help is greatly appreciated by her family. We have all helped to find lost dogs re-united with there owners in the past. We can do it again!!!!

Today was another amazing day at the office. I had the pleasure of meeting three adorable maltese puppies. In this crazy world we all live in today I feel very blessed to wake up every morning, go to my hospital and take care of all the cats and dogs that need me. These are two pictures of how genuine animals are and the love they have for us. I could not imagine doing anything different with my life. I am truly blessed and want to thank everyone who brings there pets to Happy Pets Veterinary Hospital.

I unfortunately got bit really bad by a dog(occupational hazard). Today these lovely flowers got sent to me by my amazing staff. They all made me feel incredibly special. I am so blessed to have Jay (practice manager), Dr. Tosh, Dr. O'Brien, Dana (lead technician), Talia (tech), Ashley (tech), Aida (tech), Michelle (tech), Alice (groomer), Angie (CSR), Megan (CSR), Corey (CSR & tech), and Michelle (CSR) working for me. They are all incredible people and am so fortunate that they are here to help me take care of all your beloved pets. A big thanks again to all my staff. I love all of you!!!!
