Akita F 1y3m. Just spayed and vaccinations up to date. She is currently being re-treated for anaplasmosis. She is fantastic with my 3yr old son, and loves kids. She's fully potty trained and has excellent house manners. Being an Akita, she is protective and wary of strangers, but extremely loving and sweet with people she knows. She needs to be an ONLY PET. Previous experience with similar large breed dogs preferred. Vet reference, phone interview, and meet in person visit required to ensure a good fit. There is no homing fee. Located in South China.

UPDATE: Cosmo found his home ❤

COSMO needs someone to call his own! He's a wonderful, mellow, VERY BIG boy and will be 120lbs + when grown. He's grown so fast his ears may not catch up. He's up to date on all vaccinations, great for the vet, rides well in the car, crate trained, does great with leash walking, and is excellent with my 2 ½ yr old son. He's a very loyal boy and a natural guardian. He does have the potential to be a mobility support dog, or possibly a service dog with appropriate, breed-knowlagable training. He'd do great as an only dog or with a large mellow female. He is greatly reduced as I would love to see him find his forever person or family while he's still a pup. Meet and greet a must. Akita or similar large breed experienced home preferred. Pick up only in South China, Maine. Please message me if you'd like to know more about him!

We currently have Akitas available now and some due November that will be available January.

ATLAS:
Atlas is a one year old neutered male (w/special needs) who is available for adoption. He's up to date on all vaccinations. He's brindle and white, about 75- 80lbs and won't get much bigger. He was born with a birth defect and has some mental delays and occasional balance issues. He has some vision difficulties with depth perception and in very low light. He does have food allergies and must remain on his current food for life. He is otherwise a very healthy and happy guy. He is a wonderful sweet boy who would make a great companion. He's crate trained, loves to lounge outside in a fenced yard, go for car rides and long walks, or hangout and cuddle. He needs an experienced home with no small children (he is not aware of himself and will bump/knock over small children accidentally. He also can startle if sleeping and a child bumps or lays on him). In typical Akita fashion, he does not like male dogs, however, he may do well with a calm and tolerant med-xl female. He would also do very well as an only dog. Our vet loves him and he's great there and will let them do anything to him. COSMO:
Cosmo is a 5 1/2 month old boy. He's fawn with a black and white mask and white markings. He's up to date on all vaccinations, registered, and microchipped. He's low energy and is HUGE already and growing fast. He's grown so big so fast his ears have not had a chance to stand up and may not, though they're very cute. Cosmo is very sweet and sensitive and currently prefers women but would do fine with a patient man as well. He is very loyal and though sensitive and extremely sweet he is a natural watchdog and will definitely make a solid protector. He's excellent with my 2 1/2 year old son and has been raised around him from the start. He's working on leash walking and doing well, good on car rides, crate trained, and very well behaved at the vet. Please send me a message if you'd like to know more about Cosmo!

EMERALD:
Emerald is Cosmo's sister. Due to her owner unexpectedly needing to move and being unable to keep her, she is on her way back to me today. Once she settles in I'll be able to provide more information on her and confirm she's up to date on vaccinations. She's a pale fawn with white mask and very sweet. She is registered and microchipped. I'll be able to update with more information about her soon! If you're interested in Emerald please send me a message!

Niko is up for adoption! I have some information about her below. Please read fully before contacting me, thank you! Niko is an eight month old female Akita who was returned to me due to her owner unexpectedly passing away. She was clearly very well taken care of and well loved. She's a very sweet and affectionate girl with excellent house manners. She knows sit and shake, and takes treats politely. She is fully potty trained and will let you know when she needs to out. She walks well on a leash, has good recall in a fenced yard, and does excellent on a long line as well. She is very good with my 2yr old toddler, doesn't steal his snacks or toys, is calm with him and doesn't jump up. Although she's tall and will be big, she's careful not to knock into him and I believe she would do well in a home with kids. She would do best as an only dog, or possibly with a large, calm, neutered male. No small dogs or other females. She is currently intact and will need to be spayed. She and my other females are all currently in heat (kept separate). Once her heat is over I will introduce her to my male Akita and I will be able to assess better how she does with him. She does have some resource guarding around food with other dogs, however, she has shown no issues with people (both adults and toddler). She will follow you around and does show some anxiety when I leave the house, some of that is from transitioning to a new place and it takes time for a any dog to settle fully. She prefers to be in the same room as you and will lay calmly nearby. She would do best in a home where she she would not be left alone often. She is not crate trained, and I would reccomend positive passive crate training with her as I do with all dogs. Akitas get very large and if they needed to be crated in an emergency it's safest for them to be comfortable in one.
